Journal ArticleDOI

Constituents from Polygonum cuspidatum.

TL;DR: Two lignan sulfates, a stilbene derivative and a phenol sulfate, together with 10 known compounds, were isolated from an aqueous extract of the root of Polygonum cuspidatum showing no inhibition of lipid peroxidation and no cytotoxic and DNA cleavage activities.
Book ChapterDOI

Stilbenoids: Chemistry and bioactivities

TL;DR: Stilbenoids are formed by a particular branch of the flavonoid biosynthetic pathway and are of special interest to natural product researchers for their roles in plant resistance to fungal pathogens and their biological effects as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Stilbene glycoside sulfates from Polygonum cuspidatum

TL;DR: In this article, 10 naturally occurring stilbene glycoside sulfates (1-10) were isolated from an aqueous extract of the root of Polygonum cuspidatum.
Journal Article

Free radical scavenging and inhibition of lipid peroxidation by magnesium lithospermate B

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of magnesium lithospermate B (MLB) on lipid peroxidation and free radical scavenging activity was studied using colorimetric estimation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Anti-HIV activities of the compounds isolated from Polygonum cuspidatum and Polygonum multiflorum.

TL;DR: The 70 % EtOH extract of Polygonum cuspidatum showed inhibitory action against HIV-1-induced syncytium formation at non-cytotoxic concentrations in vitro with a 50 % effective concentration (EC(50)) of 13.94 +/- 3.41 microg/mL.
