Journal ArticleDOI
Safety and immunogenicity of a quadrivalent human papillomavirus (types 6, 11, 16, and 18) vaccine in HIV-infected children 7 to 12 years old.
Myron J. Levin,Anna-Barbara Moscicki,Lin-Ye Song,Terrence Fenton,William A. Meyer,Jennifer S. Read,Edward Handelsman,Barbara F. Nowak,Carlos Sattler,Alfred J. Saah,David Radley,Mark T. Esser,Adriana Weinberg +12 more
TL;DR: QHPV was safe and immunogenic in this cohort of HIV-infected children and Efficacy trials are warranted.
Journal ArticleDOI
Optimization and Limitations of Use of Cryopreserved Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells for Functional and Phenotypic T-Cell Characterization
Adriana Weinberg,Lin-Ye Song,Cynthia L. Wilkening,Anne Sevin,Bruce Blais,Raul Louzao,Dana Stein,Patricia Defechereux,Deborah Durand,Eric Riedel,Nancy Raftery,Renee Jesser,Betty S. Brown,M. Fran Keller,Ruth Dickover,Elizabeth J. McFarland,Terence Fenton +16 more
TL;DR: It was determined that slowly diluting the thawed PBMC significantly improved viable cell recovery, whereas the use of benzonase improved cell recovery only sometimes, and LPA and flow cytometry assay results for cryopreserved and fresh PBMC were highly correlated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Administration of Live Varicella Vaccine to HIV-Infected Children with Current or Past Significant Depression of CD4+ T Cells
TL;DR: The varicella vaccine was well tolerated; there were no vaccine-related, serious adverse events and HIV-infected children with moderate symptoms and/or more pronounced past or current decreases in CD4(+) T cell counts are likely to benefit from receiving the vaccine.
Journal ArticleDOI
Immunogenicity, safety, and predictors of response after a pneumococcal conjugate and pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine series in human immunodeficiency virus-infected children receiving highly active antiretroviral therapy.
Mark J. Abzug,Mark J. Abzug,Stephen I. Pelton,Lin-Ye Song,Terence Fenton,Myron J. Levin,Sharon Nachman,William Borkowsky,Howard M. Rosenblatt,John Marcinak,Arry Dieudonne,Elaine J. Abrams,Indu Pathak +12 more
TL;DR: Two PCVs and 1 PPV were immunogenic and safe in HIV-infected children 2 to <19 years who were receiving HAART and Responses were suggestive of functional immune reconstitution.
Journal ArticleDOI
Shedding of Live Vaccine Virus, Comparative Safety, and Influenza-Specific Antibody Responses after Administration of Live Attenuated and Inactivated Trivalent Influenza Vaccines to HIV-Infected Children
Myron J. Levin,Lin-Ye Song,Terrence Fenton,Sharon Nachman,Julie Patterson,Robert E. Walker,George Kemble,Maria Allende,Micki Hultquist,Tingting Yi,Barbara F. Nowak,Adriana Weinberg +11 more
TL;DR: The safety profile after LAIV or TIV closely resembled the previously reported tolerability to these vaccines in children without HIV infection and LAIV should be further evaluated for a role in immunizing HIV-infected children.
