Journal ArticleDOI
Genomic instability in mice lacking histone H2AX.
Arkady Celeste,Simone Petersen,Peter J. Romanienko,Oscar Fernandez-Capetillo,Hua Tang Chen,Olga A. Sedelnikova,Bernardo Reina-San-Martin,Vincenzo Coppola,Eric Meffre,Michael J. Difilippantonio,Christophe E. Redon,Duane R. Pilch,Alexandru Olaru,Michael Eckhaus,R. Daniel Camerini-Otero,Lino Tessarollo,Ferenc Livak,Katia Manova,William M. Bonner,Michel C. Nussenzweig,André Nussenzweig +20 more
TL;DR: Higher order chromatin structure presents a barrier to the recognition and repair of DNA damage, and H2AX is critical for facilitating the assembly of specific DNA-repair complexes on damaged DNA.
Journal ArticleDOI
A highly efficient Escherichia coli-based chromosome engineering system adapted for recombinogenic targeting and subcloning of BAC DNA.
E-Chiang Lee,Daiguan Yu,J. Martinez de Velasco,Lino Tessarollo,Deborah A. Swing,Donald L. Court,Nancy A. Jenkins,Neal G. Copeland +7 more
TL;DR: The ability to modify or subclone large fragments of genomic DNA with precision should facilitate many kinds of genomic experiments that were difficult or impossible to perform previously and aid in studies of gene function in the postgenomic era.
Journal ArticleDOI
Adenoma-linked barrier defects and microbial products drive IL-23/IL-17-mediated tumour growth.
Sergei I. Grivennikov,Kepeng Wang,Daniel Mucida,C. Andrew Stewart,Bernd Schnabl,Dominik Jauch,Koji Taniguchi,Guann-Yi Yu,Christoph H. Österreicher,Kenneth E. Hung,Christian Datz,Ying Feng,Eric R. Fearon,Mohamed Oukka,Lino Tessarollo,Vincenzo Coppola,Felix Yarovinsky,Hilde Cheroutre,Lars Eckmann,Giorgio Trinchieri,Michael Karin +20 more
TL;DR: It is proposed that barrier deterioration induced by colorectal-cancer-initiating genetic lesions results in adenoma invasion by microbial products that trigger tumour-elicited inflammation, which in turn drives tumour growth.
Journal ArticleDOI
c-Myc Is a Universal Amplifier of Expressed Genes in Lymphocytes and Embryonic Stem Cells
Zuqin Nie,Gangqing Hu,Gang Wei,Kairong Cui,Arito Yamane,Wolfgang Resch,Ruoning Wang,Douglas R. Green,Lino Tessarollo,Rafael Casellas,Keji Zhao,David Levens +11 more
TL;DR: To observe Myc target expression and function in a system where Myc is temporally and physiologically regulated, the transcriptomes and the genome-wide distributions of Myc, RNA polymerase II, and chromatin modifications were compared during lymphocyte activation and in ES cells as well.
Journal ArticleDOI
Brain-derived neurotrophic factor-deficient mice develop aggressiveness and hyperphagia in conjunction with brain serotonergic abnormalities.
W. Ernest Lyons,W. Ernest Lyons,Laura A. Mamounas,George A. Ricaurte,Vincenzo Coppola,Susan W. Reid,Susan H. Bora,Cornelia Wihler,Vassilis E. Koliatsos,Lino Tessarollo +9 more
TL;DR: The results indicate that endogenous BDNF is critical for the normal development and function of central 5-HT neurons and for the elaboration of behaviors that depend on these nerve cells, and BDNF(+/-) mice may provide a useful model to study human psychiatric disorders attributed to dysfunction of serotonergic neurons.
