Impact of high pressure and shear thinning on journal bearing friction
David Emanuel Sander,Hannes Allmaier,Hans-Herwig Priebsch,Franz Markus Reich,Mario Witt,T. Füllenbach,Athanassios Skiadas,Ludwig Brouwer,Hubert Schwarze +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the impact of the piezoviscous effect and non-Newtonian lubricant properties on the friction power losses in journal bearings over a wide range of dynamic loads and shaft speeds was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Oscillatory and steady shear viscosity: The Cox–Merz rule, superposition, and application to EHL friction
TL;DR: In this paper, the steady shear dependent viscosmity and the frequency dependent visco-coverage were measured for a cyclic hydrocarbon and for a diester, and it was shown that both of them obey time-temperature pressure superposition with the simplest shifting rule.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ölalterung und Verschleiß im Ottomotor
Hubert Schwarze,Ludwig Brouwer,Gunter Knoll,Frank Schlerege,Ulrich Müller-Frank,Michael Kopnarski,Stefan Emrich +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, drei Forschungspartner in einem gemeinsamen FVV-projekt have been unterstoffalterung und deren Einfluss auf das Verschleisverhalten der Tribosysteme im Ottomotor untersucht.
Journal ArticleDOI
Journal ArticleDOI
High pressure metrology for industrial applications
Wladimir Sabuga,Thierry Rabault,Christian Wüthrich,Dominik Pražák,Miroslav Chytil,Ludwig Brouwer,Ahmed D S Ahmed +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a transfer standard for 1.5 GPa pressure range, based on pressure transducers, was developed and tested, from which industrial users can calibrate their pressure measurement devices for accurate measurements up to 1.6 GPa.
