Strukturelle Ubereinstimmungen von Naturstoffen legen gleiche biogenetische Aufbauprinzipien nahe. Fur die Alkaloide gelingt es, drei Reaktionsmerkmale herauszuarbeiten, die, verbunden mit einer Ringspaltung, den Bau vieler Alkaloide so eindeutig zu beschreiben vermogen, das man u. U. an der Richtigkeit von Alkaloid-Formeln, die dem nicht entsprechen, zweifeln darf. Sind derart fur die Alkaloid-Bildung das Zusammentreffen von basischem Stickstoffatom, Aldehyd-Gruppe und einem Kohlenstoffatom von welchem Elektronen zur Herstellung einer Bindung abgezogen werden konnen wesentlich, so werden als Vorstufen fur pilzliche Stoffwechselprodukte (Antibiotica u. a.) Polycarbonyl- bzw. Polypropionsaure-Verbindungen nachgewiesen.

The Alkaloids of Tabernanthe iboga. Part IV.1 The Structures of Ibogamine, Ibogaine, Tabernanthine and Voacangine

Indole-3-aldehyde, indole-3-carboxylic acid and its ethyl ester were reduced by excess lithium aluminum hydride to skatole. The expected reduction product, 3-hydroxymethylindole, was obtained by the action of sodium hydroxide on gramine methiodide. It and its alkyl ethers were readily reduced to skatole. 3-Hydroxymethylindole underwent self-condensation to 3,3′-di-indolylmethane in neutral and alkaline media, and with acidic reagents was converted to an oxygen-free polymeric substance. 1. Das Cinchonamin ist eine einsaurige Base C19H24ON2, welche im UV. ein fur Indol-Derivate charakteristisches Absorptionsspektrum aufweist und zusatzlich zum Indol-Ring eine leicht hydrierbare Doppelbindung besitzt. Der Sauerstoff ist in Form einer Hydroxyl-Gruppe anwesend.

Über China‐Alkaloide. 7. Mitteilung. Über die Konstitution von Cinchonamin und Chinamin

Das Gelsemin wurde durch Hydrierung mit einem Platinoxyd-Katalysator in Eisessig in ein Oktahydro-gelsemin ubergefuhrt, in welchem die Doppelbindung und der aromatische Kern abgesattigt sind. Durch Zinkstaub-Destillation des Gelsemin-hydrochlorids konnte 3-Methyl-oxindol gefasst werden. Diese Ergebnisse bestatigen die von fruheren Autoren angenommene Oxindol-Struktur eines Teiles der Gelsemin-Molekel.

Über das Gelsemin

Das Corynathean, ein Abbauprodukt des Alkaloids Corynanthein, geht bei Hydrierung in das Dihydro-corynanthean uber. Die Ozonisierung des Corynantheins und des Corynantheans liefert im Gegensatz zu derjenigen des Dihydro-corynantheans Formaldehyd. Es folgt daraus, dass im Corynanthean und im Corynanthein die Gruppierung > CCH2 anwesend ist und dass das Corynanthein tetracyclisch und nicht, wie bisher angenommen wurde, pentacyclisch ist. Fur das Corynanthein wird die Formel I vorgeschlagen.

Über die Konstitution des Corynantheins

Aus Dihydro-corynanthean und Corynantheidan wurden durch Oxydation mit Ozon stereoisomere Pyrro-chinolon-Derivate IVa bzw. IVb hergestellt.

Konfiguration des Kohlenstoff‐Atoms 3 von Dihydrocorynanthean, Corynantheidan, Yohimban und Allo‐yohimban

Durch Verteilung von rohem Corynanthein zwischen einer Citratpuffer-Losung vom pH = 4,1 und Ather konnte das Corynanthein vom Dihydro-corynanthein getrennt und in reiner Form isoliert werden.
