Journal ArticleDOI

Enzyme production in continuous cultivation by the thermophilic fungus, Thermomyces lanuginosus

TL;DR: The production of extracellular enzymes by the thermophilic fungus Thermomyces lanuginosus was studied in chemostat cultures at a dilution rate of 0.08 h−1 in relation to variation in the ammonium concentration in the feed medium.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of pH and the initial concentration of yeast extract on regulation of dimorphism and exopolysaccharide formation of Aureobasidium pullulans in batch culture

TL;DR: The effect of yeast extract on morphology and exopolysaccharide formation of Aureobasidium pullulans was followed quantitatively in batch cultivations in 2 1 fermenters and formation of yeast-like cells was a prerequisite of formation of exopoly Saccharide.
Journal ArticleDOI

The ability of the yeast form of Aureobasidium pullullans to elaborate exopolysaccharide in chemostat culture at various pH values.

TL;DR: A change in the carbon source from glucose to sucrose resulted in a more than doubling of the steady-state EPS concentration from 3.1 to 6.1 and a simple mass balance on carbon was constructed which could account for more than 95% of the carbon.
Journal ArticleDOI

Uptake of Zn2+ by yeast and mycelial growth form of Aureobasidium pullulans grown in chemostat culture

TL;DR: The yeast-mycelial dimorphic fungus Aureobasidium pullulans was grown in chemostat culture in mineral medium under zinc-limiting and zinc-sufficient conditions and the Zn2+ uptake appeared to be energy dependent and no efflux was demonstrated.
