Journal ArticleDOI
The dust origin of the Broad Line Region and the model consequences for AGN unification scheme
Bozena Czerny,Justyna Modzelewska,Francesco Petrogalli,Wojtek Pych,T. P. Adhikari,Piotr T. Życki,K. Hryniewicz,Magdalena Krupa,Agnieszka Świe¸toń,Marek Nikolajuk +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, a simple physical mechanism was proposed for the formation of the Low Ionization Line part of the Broad Line Region in Active Galactic Nuclei, where the local effective temperature of a non-illuminated accretion disk drops below 1000 K and allows for dust formation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Time Delay Measurement of Mg II Line in CTS C30.10 with SALT
Bozena Czerny,Aleksandra Olejak,Mateusz Rałowski,Szymon Kozłowski,Mary Loli Martinez Aldama,Michal Zajaček,Wojtek Pych,Krzysztof Hryniewicz,Grzegorz Pietrzyński,Catalina Sobrino Figaredo,Martin Haas,Justyna Średzińska,Magdalena Krupa,Agnieszka Kurcz,Andrzej Udalski,M. Gorski,Vladimir Karas,Swayamtrupta Panda,M. Sniegowska,Mohammad-Hassan Naddaf,Maciej Bilicki,Marek J. Sarna +21 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Machine-learning identification of galaxies in the WISE × SuperCOSMOS all-sky catalogue
Tomasz Krakowski,Katarzyna Małek,Maciej Bilicki,Maciej Bilicki,Agnieszka Pollo,Agnieszka Pollo,Agnieszka Kurcz,Agnieszka Kurcz,Magdalena Krupa,Magdalena Krupa +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, support vector machines (SVM) were used to identify galaxies in the WISE × SuperCOSMOS catalogue through an alternative approach of machine learning, which allows to define more complex separations in the multi-colour space than is possible with simple colour cuts, and should provide a more reliable source classification.
Journal ArticleDOI
Time-delay measurement of MgII broad line response for the highly-accreting quasar HE 0413-4031: Implications for the MgII-based radius-luminosity relation
Michal Zajaček,Bozena Czerny,Mary Loli Martínez-Aldama,Mateusz Rałowski,Aleksandra Olejak,Swayamtrupta Panda,Krzysztof Hryniewicz,Marzena Śniegowska,Mohammad-Hassan Naddaf,Wojtek Pych,Grzegorz Pietrzyński,C. Sobrino Figaredo,Martin Haas,Justyna Średzińska,Magdalena Krupa,Agnieszka Kurcz,Andrzej Udalski,Marek Górski,Marek J. Sarna +18 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present the monitoring of the AGN continuum and MgII broad line emission for the quasar HE 0413-4031 ($z=1.38$) based on the six-year monitoring by the South African Large Telescope (SALT).
Journal ArticleDOI
Time delay measurement of Mg II line in CTS C30.10 with SALT
Bozena Czerny,Aleksandra Olejak,Mateusz Rałowski,Szymon Kozłowski,Mary Loli Martinez Aldama,Michal Zajaček,Wojtek Pych,Krzysztof Hryniewicz,Grzegorz Pietrzyński,C. Sobrino Figaredo,Martin Haas,J. Sredzinska,Magdalena Krupa,Agnieszka Kurcz,Andrzej Udalski,Marek Górski,Vladimir Karas,Swayamtrupta Panda,Marzena Sniegowska,Mohammad-Hassan Naddaf,Marek J. Sarna +20 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors measured the rest-frame time-lag of a distant bright quasar CTS C30.10 (z = 0.90052) with the Southern African Large Telescope (SALT).
