Journal ArticleDOI

Acoustic radiation and active control from a smart functionally graded submerged hollow cylinder

TL;DR: In this article, the 3D piezoelasticity theory and the spatial state-space approach are used to study the steady-state non-axisymmetric sound radiation and scattering characteristics of an infinitely long, arbitrar.
Journal ArticleDOI

Vibroacoustic response and active control of a fluid-filled functionally graded piezoelectric material composite cylinder

TL;DR: In this paper, the linear three-dimensional piezoelasticity theory in conjunction with the versatile transfer matrix approach is employed to investigate the steady-state nonaxisymmetric fluid-structure-coupled vibrations of an arbitrarily thick bilaminate simply supported hollow cylinder of finite length, composed of an inner layer of orthotropic functionally graded material perfectly bonded to an outer layer of radially/axially/circumferentially polarized functionally graded piezoceramic material.
Journal ArticleDOI

Active transient elasto-acoustic response damping of a thick-walled liquid-coupled piezolaminated cylindrical vessel

TL;DR: In this paper, the linear 3D piezoelasticity theory in conjunction with the versatile transfer matrix approach and the wave equation for the internal acoustic domain are employed for active non-stationary vibroacoustic response control of an arbitrarily thick, tri-laminate, fluid-filled, simply supported, piezocomposite cylindrical tank, excited by arbitrary (non-axisymmetric) time-dependent on-surface mechanical loads.
