Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of Probiotic Supplementation on Cognitive Function and Metabolic Status in Alzheimer's Disease: A Randomized, Double-Blind and Controlled Trial.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that probiotic consumption for 12 weeks positively affects cognitive function and some metabolic statuses in the AD patients and no considerable effect on other biomarkers of oxidative stress and inflammation, fasting plasma glucose, and other lipid profiles.
Journal ArticleDOI

Change of conduction velocity by regional myelination yields constant latency irrespective of distance between thalamus and cortex

TL;DR: This work has found a mechanism that produces invariability of latency among thalamocortical afferents, irrespective of the variability of travelling distances, and may well provide a general strategy of connecting multiple sites irrespective of distances in the brain.
Journal ArticleDOI

Probiotics treatment improves diabetes-induced impairment of synaptic activity and cognitive function: behavioral and electrophysiological proofs for microbiome-gut-brain axis

TL;DR: It is concluded that probiotics efficiently reverse deteriorated brain functions in the levels of cognitive performances and their proposed synaptic mechanisms in diabetes mellitus.
Journal ArticleDOI

Clinical and metabolic response to probiotic supplementation in patients with multiple sclerosis: A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that the use of probiotic capsule for 12 weeks among subjects with MS had favorable effects on EDSS, parameters of mental health, inflammatory factors, markers of insulin resistance, HDL-, total-/HDL-cholesterol and MDA levels.
