Response of educational institutions to COVID-19 pandemic: An inter-country comparison

This paper conducts quantitative research on the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic on the adaptation to digital learning environments (DLE) of a group of 908 university professors. We compared the perceptions of participants who were digital natives (born before 1980) with those of digital immigrants (born after 1980). For this purpose, a validated survey was used and the obtained responses statistically analyzed. The results show a negative correlation between pandemic stress and the digital competence of professors and their adaptation skills to digital environments, which although weak for both of the two groups compared are stronger for digital immigrants. Both self-confidence and digital competence show a positive influence on the perception of adaptation of skills to DLE, and this is weaker in digital natives. Gaps were identified by gender and area of knowledge of the participants; consequently, the need to carry out training actions for university faculty on skills linked to their digital competence in teaching is clear.

Variables Influencing Professors’ Adaptation to Digital Learning Environments during the COVID-19 Pandemic

Blended learning incorporates online learning experiences and helps students for meaningful learning through flexible online information and communication technologies, reduced overcrowded classroom presence, and planned teaching and learning experience. This study has conducted surveys of various tools, techniques, frameworks, and models useful for blended learning. This article has prepared a comprehensive survey of student, teacher, and management experiences in blended learning courses during COVID-19 and pre-COVID-19 times. The survey will be useful to faculty members, students, and management to adopt new tools and mindsets for positive outcomes. This work reports on implementing and assessing blended learning at two different universities (University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, India, and Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida, India). The assessments prepare the benefits and challenges of learning (by students) and teaching (by faculty) blended learning courses with different online learning tools. Additionally, student performance in the traditional and blended learning courses was compared to list the concerns about effectively shifting the face-to-face courses to a blended learning model in emergencies like COVID-19. As a result, it has been observed that blended learning is helpful for school, university, and professional training. A large set of online and e-learning platforms are developed in recent times that can be used in blended learning to improve the learner’s abilities. The use of similar tools (Blackboard, CodeTantra, and g suite) has fulfilled the requirements of the two universities, and timely conducted and completed all academic activities during pandemic times.

The world has witnessed a sudden change of horizon in the legacy, lifestyle of the human being due to the COVID19 (Corona virus). The set protocols made by the different states of the world to harness the available resources on earth for human development came under a halt due to COVID-19. We have conducted a study on the immediate effects and the unprecedented change in the world we live in due to the ongoing pandemic. The paper aims to discuss and analyze the impact of this on the people and suggesting the appropriate remedies. The data collected has been done through online modes and the behavior of the people is observed, analyzed, and finally the results are represented with suitable assessments. During the study, few important parameters taken under consideration are the impact of COVID-19 on health, relationships, lifestyle, online education, screen time and income, etc. The paper aims to highlight the immediate impact of the COVID-19 on the behavioral change of the people and assessment of awareness in the general population about COVID-19.

The Digital Literacy in Teachers of the Schools of Rajouri (J&K)-India: Teachers Perspective

Single-point incremental forming (SPIF) of polymers was started back in the first decade of twenty-first century; since then, substantial studies have been performed on this topic. The present article reviews these studies and compiles the developments in a comprehensive manner. The review entails a number of forming aspects of polymers, the more important of which are deformation mechanics, failure modes, formability, forming forces, springback, and post-forming material characteristics. The agreements and disagreements amongst the researchers are recognized and critical remarks are provided. The issues are identified, and areas of future work are proposed to further comprehend knowledge on the subject in order to successfully deploy the process on industrial scale. The differences in the characteristics of SPIF of polymers and SPIF of metals are also outlined and discussed in this article. The review concludes that the operating parameters and material are the key factors that affect the process performance. Further, the innovative technology must be adopted, and a larger database should be established to enhance industrial viability of the process.

The objective of achieving profitability is one of the main targets of any banking sector for longer sustainable existence. The customer satisfaction index determines the longevity in relation of customer-bank and thereby provides the idea of devising new policies and strategies for healthy connection of customers with the bank. Offering the services and products to the customer based on his choice and needs requires understanding the customer. The customer data available in the bank can provide the deep insights to the bank for designing the customized service and products. Deriving useful information from customer data using data mining techniques is of paramount importance in these days. Leveraging existing granular customer data can help banks  gain deep actionable customer insights useful to understand the customers and to reveal and unlock opportunities for increasing profitability .customer segmentation and  profiling are vital in achieving two main objectives of CRM(Customer Relationship Management)i.e.; customer retention and customer development. The main aims of customer profiling and segmentation include expanding customer base, design of tailor made products, micro targeting of sales, aligning right channels for right products, increasing effectiveness of cross selling and up-selling, enhanced customer experience by focused customer relationship, prioritizing relationship with high value customers, effectively managing cost with low value customers based on the profiling and segmentation of customers. In this paper we are using data mining techniques i.e. Naive Bayes classification algorithm for customer profiling and BIRCH clustering algorithm for customer segmentation
