Abstract: The aim of this article is to look at specific real life cases of the social trajectory of skateboarders, who managed their skateboarding career whilst not being in the mainstream of sponsorship. In skateboarding sponsorship is almost the only viable means to be professionally and thus financially stable. This study is done by taking into consideration: the ins and outs of the skateboarding world, the lives of the people involved in the sport, and the means with which they exercise and manage their chosen profession. The data utilized is derived from techniques of research such as: semi structured interviews, participant observation and document-based research.

Abstract: This article covers the presentation of the initiat ive of two groups of studies that propose to work together in different universities and citi es with one goal in common, jointly undertake a research project of three years that li nks the themes, content and methodologies to be articulated between the two gro ups. To achieve this, the project (in initial stage) is proposed to discuss the meanings and experiences of children in their physical practices in the city of Porto Alegre and in Curitiba through ethnographic methodology, by focusing on two different empirical places (the school and the street).

Abstract: Resumen: Este articulo apunta, a partir de casos concretos, a elementos relativos a la trayectoria social de skaters que lograron estar en el subuniverso de los patrocinios. Cuando se trata de skate, eso significa practicamente la unica posibilidad de profesionalizacion. En este estudio, se toman en cuenta detalles de la constitucion y del funcionamiento del campo del skate en su totalidad y de la vida de los informantes, de su camino para incorporar disposiciones y capitales validos en el contexto del skate. Los datos utilizados provienen de tecnicas de investigacion como la entrevista semiestructurada, la observacion participante y la recogida de documentos. Palabras clave: Patinaje. Estilo de vida.
