Clinical Applications of Ultrasonic Enhancing Agents in Echocardiography: 2018 American Society of Echocardiography Guidelines Update.
Thomas R. Porter,Sharon L. Mulvagh,Sahar S. Abdelmoneim,Harald Becher,J. Todd Belcik,Michelle Bierig,Jonathan B. Choy,Nicola Gaibazzi,Linda D. Gillam,Rajesh Janardhanan,Shelby Kutty,Howard Leong-Poi,Jonathan R. Lindner,Michael L. Main,Wilson Mathias,Margaret M. Park,Roxy Senior,Flordeliza S. Villanueva +17 more
TL;DR: The aim of this conference is to provide a platform for the development of a new generation of scientists and clinicians to address the rapidly changing environment in which the authors live and work.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ventricular geometry, strain, and rotational mechanics in pulmonary hypertension.
Sarinya Puwanant,Margaret M. Park,Zoran B. Popović,W.H. Wilson Tang,Samar Farha,Deepa George,Jacqueline Sharp,Jirapa Puntawangkoon,James E. Loyd,Serpil C. Erzurum,James D. Thomas +10 more
TL;DR: Chronic RV pressure overload further influences IVS and LV geometry, which impairs LV torsion and segmental LS and CS, more for the IVS than for the free wall of the LV.
Journal ArticleDOI
Recommendations for the Assessment of Carotid Arterial Plaque by Ultrasound for the Characterization of Atherosclerosis and Evaluation of Cardiovascular Risk: From the American Society of Echocardiography.
Amer M. Johri,Vijay Nambi,Tasneem Z. Naqvi,Steven B. Feinstein,Esther S.H. Kim,Margaret M. Park,Harald Becher,Henrik Sillesen +7 more
TL;DR: Recommendations for the standardization of focused 2D and 3D carotid arterial plaque ultrasound image acquisition and measurement for the purpose of cardiovascular disease stratification are formulated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hypoxia-inducible factors in human pulmonary arterial hypertension: a link to the intrinsic myeloid abnormalities
Samar Farha,Kewal Asosingh,Weiling Xu,Jacqueline Sharp,Deepa George,Suzy A.A. Comhair,Margaret M. Park,W.H. Wilson Tang,James E. Loyd,Karl S. Theil,Raymond R. Tubbs,Eric D. Hsi,Alan E. Lichtin,Serpil C. Erzurum +13 more
TL;DR: The results show that PAH is linked to myeloid abnormalities, some of which may be related to increased production of HIF-inducible factors by diseased pulmonary vasculature, but findings in nonaffected family suggest myeloids abnormalities may be intrinsic to the disease process.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fasting 2-Deoxy-2-[18F]fluoro-d-glucose Positron Emission Tomography to Detect Metabolic Changes in Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension Hearts over 1 Year
Erika L. Lundgrin,Margaret M. Park,Jacqueline Sharp,W.H. Wilson Tang,James D. Thomas,Kewal Asosingh,Suzy A. A. Comhair,Frank Difilippo,Donald R. Neumann,Laura Davis,Brian B. Graham,Rubin M. Tuder,Iva Dostanic,Serpil C. Erzurum +13 more
TL;DR: PAH hearts have pathologic glycolytic metabolism that is quantitatively related to cardiac dysfunction over time, suggesting that metabolic imaging may be useful in therapeutic monitoring of patients.
