TL;DR: Because of new evidence on several diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of hypertension, the present guidelines differ in many respects from the previous ones.

TL;DR: In patients with stable coronary heart disease, darapladib did not significantly reduce the risk of the primary composite end point of cardiovascular death, myocardial infarction, or stroke.
Journal ArticleDOI
New photoplethysmographic signal analysis algorithm for arterial stiffness estimation.
TL;DR: The filter parameters were optimized in order to achieve the minimal standard deviation of AGI, which gives more effective differentiation between the levels of arterial stiffness, and the optimal low-pass filter edge frequency and transitionband of 1 Hz were found, which facilitates AGI calculation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Photoplethysmographic signal waveform index for detection of increased arterial stiffness
TL;DR: The photoplethysmographic waveform index PPGAI based on the inexpensive PPG technology can be considered as a perspective measure of increased arterial stiffness estimation in clinical screenings.
