Deadlock control methods in automated manufacturing systems
Maria Pia Fanti,MengChu Zhou +1 more
TL;DR: This paper intends to present a tutorial survey of state-of-the art modeling and deadlock control methods for discrete manufacturing systems and presents the updated results in the areas of deadlock prevention, detection and recovery, and avoidance.
Journal ArticleDOI
Event-based feedback control for deadlock avoidance in flexible production systems
TL;DR: The paper derives necessary and sufficient conditions for a deadlock occurrence and rigorously characterize highly undesirable situations (second level deadlocks), which inevitably evolve to circular waits in the next future.

Journal ArticleDOI
Brief paper: On-line fault detection in discrete event systems by Petri nets and integer linear programming
TL;DR: In this paper, a fault detection problem for discrete event systems in a Petri Net (PN) framework is addressed, assuming that the structure of the PN model and the initial marking are known, faults are modelled by unobservable transitions.
Journal ArticleDOI
A signal timing plan formulation for urban traffic control
TL;DR: The paper modifies and extends a discrete time model for urban traffic networks proposed in the related literature to take into account some real aspects of traffic.
