Abstract: The research paper examines high school students’ leisure time preferences (N=437, 194 male, 44.4%; 243 female, 55.6%) while taking into account the school type, age and gender effect on their leisure preferences. The study included mid and late adolescents whose age ranged from 14 to 19. The questionnaire consisted of socio-demographic and leisure time activity questions. The results point to significant differences between students in terms of culture-oriented, family-oriented and passively spent free time activities. A statistically significant difference was found in relation to spending time in a bar (passively-idly spent time) as older adolescents were more prone to it. A significant difference was noted in terms of attending church, sermons or lectures (religion-oriented free time) and actively doing sports (sport-oriented free time), where younger adolescents ascribed a higher importance to these activities as opposed to older adolescents. Gender was significant concerning family and home-oriented leisure activities, passively-idly spent activities, culture and sport-oriented activities. Future studies should incorporate a more comprehensive list of activities in order to provide an in-depth view of out-of-school activities and daily lifestyles.

TL;DR: Miliša et al. as mentioned in this paper obavljena na osnovi rezultata empirijskog istraživanja koje su proveli Mlinarević (2005) te Proroković i sur. (2006).
Abstract: Sažetak Područje slobodnog vremena mladih situira se sadržajnom dimenzijom provođenja slobodnog vremena koja određuje njihov prepoznatljiv životni stil. Rad se bavi usporedbom sadržaja (stilova) slobodnog vremena mladih i njihovim vrijednosnim orijentacijama u pet slavonskih gradova (Osijek, Požega, Slavonski Brod, Virovitica, Vinkovci) i Zadra.

Abstract: In this paper the authors discuss changes in the Croatian university students’ leisure time acitivities. The analysis is based on a comparison of the data gathered in the youth researches in Croatia in 1999 in 2004. Results showed that in a five year period the patterns of leisure time activities of Croatian university students statistically significantly changed, the change in relation between university students’ leisure time activities and their sex, age and residential status occurred. At the same time, the results confirmed there are stabile patterns of leisure time activities during five year period, these patterns are to a significant extent constituted by products and contents of mass culture. (IN CROATIAN: U ovom radu autorice analiziraju promjene u aktivnostima slobodnoga vremena hrvatskih studenata.

TL;DR: In this article, a notional and theoretic contextualisation of the development of the consumer culture, against the background of an ever increasing individualisation inside contemporary societies, is presented, where the authors analyze old and new theoretic contributions to the conception of consumer culture.
Abstract: The author offers a notional and theoretic contextualisation of the development of the consumer culture, against the background of an ever increasing individualisation inside contemporary societies. As she analyses old and new theoretic contributions to the conception of consumer culture, the author becomes increasingly aware of the role played by the environmental reflection of the consumer behaviour in the notional transformation of the consumer culture. Namely, the change from the work ethics to consumption ethics has, along with other factors, irrevocably changed the meaning of consumption not only in economics and culture, but also in everyday life, modifying the meaning of the consumption culture. With the replacement of the production with consumption socialisation the significance of the culture of consumption has grown to such an extent that it not only becomes the generator of social changes, but plays a decisive role in their understanding, as well. The symbols of the consumer culture begin to shape all social relations, dominating the conception of reality, everyday notions and ways of establishing identity. An even increasing consumption forces individuals to inter-dependence and the same time, paradoxically, to an ever greater individualisation, in which everyone is forced to invest his own choices
