Journal ArticleDOI
Heterooligomerization between vasotocin and corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH) receptors augments CRH-stimulated 3',5'-cyclic adenosine monophosphate production.
Marina V. Mikhailova,Philip R. Mayeux,Alexander Jurkevich,Wayne J. Kuenzel,Farrah N. Madison,Ammasi Periasamy,Ye Chen,Lawrence E. Cornett +7 more
TL;DR: In HeLa cells expressing both CRHR and VT2R, treatment with CRH and AVT resulted in a significant increase in cAMP production over that withCRH alone, indicating that heterodimer formation may enhance the ability of the CRHR to activate downstream signal transduction.
Journal ArticleDOI
DNase I-Like Endonuclease in Rat Kidney Cortex That Is Activated during Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury
TL;DR: The data indicate that the DNase I-like endonuclease may contribute to DNA fragmentation in reperfused rat kidneys.
Journal ArticleDOI
Molecular cloning of an oxytocin-like receptor expressed in the chicken shell gland.
Konstantin I. Gubrij,Chandra Mohini Chaturvedi,Nawab Ali,Lawrence E. Cornett,J. D. Kirby,James Wilkerson,Marina V. Mikhailova,Michael L. Turner,Dennis A. Baeyens +8 more
TL;DR: The cloning of a third neuropeptide receptor in the chicken is reported and Parsimony analysis reveals that the new receptor has highest homology to mammalian OT receptors and the MT receptors of non-mammalian vertebrates.
Journal ArticleDOI
Endonuclease G mediates endothelial cell death induced by carbamylated LDL
Eugene O. Apostolov,Debarti Ray,Wilson M. Alobuia,Marina V. Mikhailova,Xiaoying Wang,Alexei G. Basnakian,Sudhir V. Shah +6 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that cLDL-induced endothelial mitotic cell death is independent of caspase-3 and results from EndoG-dependent DNA fragmentation, and the inhibitors of MEK-ERK1/2 and JNK-c-jun pathways decreased cLDl-induced EndOG overexpression and DNA fragmentation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Distribution of the Vasotocin Subtype Four Receptor (VT4R) in the Anterior Pituitary Gland of the Chicken, Gallus gallus, and its Possible Role in the Avian Stress Response.
Rajamani Selvam,Alexander Jurkevich,Seong W. Kang,Marina V. Mikhailova,Lawrence E. Cornett,Wayne J. Kuenzel +5 more
TL;DR: A polyclonal antibody to the VT4R was developed and validated to confirm its specificity and suggest a role of theVT4R in the avian stress response.
