Journal ArticleDOI
Periodontitis, Edentulism, and Risk of Mortality: A Systematic Review with Meta-analyses
TL;DR: Periodontitis and its ultimate sequela (edentulism) are associated with an increased risk of all-cause and cause-specific mortality (PROSPERO CRD42018100095).
Journal ArticleDOI
Prevalence and risk/protective indicators of peri‐implant diseases: A university‐representative cross‐sectional study
Mario Romandini,Cristina Lima,Ignacio Pedrinaci,Ana Araoz,Maria Costanza Soldini,Mariano Sanz +5 more
TL;DR: Peri-implant diseases are highly prevalent among patients with dental implants in this university-based population and several factors were identified as risk- and protective-indicators of peri-IMplantitis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Antibiotic prophylaxis at dental implant placement: Which is the best protocol? A systematic review and network meta-analysis.
Mario Romandini,Mario Romandini,Mario Romandini,Ilaria De Tullio,Francesca Congedi,Zamira Kalemaj,Mattia D'Ambrosio,Mattia D'Ambrosio,Andreina Laforí,Ciro Quaranta,Jacopo Buti,Giorgio Perfetti +11 more
TL;DR: Whenever an antibiotic prophylaxis is needed, there is still insufficient evidence to confidently recommend a specific dosage, so the use of post-operative courses does not seem however to be justified by the available literature.
Journal ArticleDOI
Periodontitis and platelet count: A new potential link with cardiovascular and other systemic inflammatory diseases
Mario Romandini,Mario Romandini,Andreina Laforí,Pierluigi Romandini,Giacomo Baima,Massimo Cordaro +5 more
TL;DR: It is shown that periodontitis-especially severe-is independently associated with a considerable increase in platelet count which is explained, at least in part, by an increase in the systemic inflammation.
