Modified SEIR and AI prediction of the epidemics trend of COVID-19 in China under public health interventions
Zifeng Yang,Zifeng Yang,Zhiqi Zeng,Ke Wang,Sook San Wong,Sook San Wong,Wenhua Liang,Mark Zanin,Mark Zanin,Liu Peng,Xudong Cao,Zhongqiang Gao,Zhitong Mai,Jingyi Liang,Xiaoqing Liu,Shiyue Li,Yimin Li,Feng Ye,Wei-jie Guan,Yifan Yang,Fei Li,Shengmei Luo,Yuqi Xie,Bin Liu,Zhoulang Wang,Shaobo Zhang,Yaonan Wang,Nanshan Zhong,Jianxing He +28 more
TL;DR: The implementation of control measures on January 23 2020 was indispensable in reducing the eventual COVID-19 epidemic size, and the dynamic SEIR model, trained on the 2003 SARS data, was effective in predicting the epidemic peaks and sizes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical characteristics and outcomes of hospitalised patients with COVID-19 treated in Hubei (epicentre) and outside Hubei (non-epicentre): a nationwide analysis of China.
Wenhua Liang,Wei Jie Guan,Caichen Li,Yimin Li,Heng Rui Liang,Yi Zhao,Xiaoqing Liu,Ling Sang,Ling Sang,Ru Chong Chen,Chun Li Tang,Tao Wang,Wei Wang,Qi Hua He,Zi Sheng Chen,Sook San Wong,Mark Zanin,Jun Liu,Xin Xu,Jun Huang,Jianfu Li,Li Min Ou,Bo Cheng,Shan Xiong,Zhan Hong Xie,Zheng Yi Ni,Yu Hu,Lei Liu,Hong Shan,Chun Liang Lei,Yi Xiang Peng,Li Wei,Yong Liu,Ya Hua Hu,Peng Peng,Jian-ming Wang,Ji Yang Liu,Zhong Chen,Gang Li,Zhi Jian Zheng,Shao Qin Qiu,Jie Luo,Chang Jiang Ye,Shao Yong Zhu,Lin Ling Cheng,Feng Ye,Shi Yue Li,Jin Ping Zheng,Nuo Fu Zhang,Nuo Fu Zhang,Nanshan Zhong,Jianxing He +51 more
TL;DR: There were more severe cases and poorer outcomes for COVID-19 patients treated in Hubei, which might be attributed to the prolonged duration of symptom onset to hospitalisation in the epicentre, and the reason for delaying hospitalisation is warranted.
Journal ArticleDOI
Early triage of critically ill COVID-19 patients using deep learning
Wenhua Liang,Jianhua Yao,Ailan Chen,Qingquan Lv,Mark Zanin,Jun Liu,Sook San Wong,Yimin Li,Jiatao Lu,Hengrui Liang,Guoqiang Chen,Haiyan Guo,Jun Guo,Rong Zhou,Limin Ou,Zhou Niyun,Hanbo Chen,Fan Yang,Xiao Han,Wenjing Huan,Weimin Tang,Wei-jie Guan,Zisheng Chen,Yi Zhao,Ling Sang,Yuanda Xu,Wei Wang,Shiyue Li,Ligong Lu,Nuofu Zhang,Nanshan Zhong,Junzhou Huang,Jianxing He +32 more
TL;DR: A deep learning-based survival model can predict the risk of COVID-19 patients developing critical illness based on clinical characteristics at admission and is used to create an online calculation tool designed for patient triage at admission to identify patients at risk of severe illness.
Journal ArticleDOI
