Extended Lyman alpha haloes around individual high-redshift galaxies revealed by MUSE
Lutz Wisotzki,Roland Bacon,J. Blaizot,Jarle Brinchmann,E. C. Herenz,Joop Schaye,Nicolas Bouché,S. Cantalupo,T. Contini,C. M. Carollo,Joseph Caruana,Jean-Baptiste Courbot,E. TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reported the detection of extended Ly alpha emission around individual star-forming galaxies at redshifts z = 3-6 in an ultradeep exposure of the Hubble Deep Field South obtained with MUSE on the ESO-VLT.

Journal ArticleDOI
A stellar census in globular clusters with MUSE: The contribution of rotation to cluster dynamics studied with 200 000 stars
Sebastian Kamann,Sebastian Kamann,T. O. Husser,Stefan Dreizler,Eric Emsellem,Eric Emsellem,P. M. Weilbacher,S. Martens,Roland Bacon,M. den Brok,Benjamin Giesers,Davor Krajnović,Martin Roth,Martin Wendt,Martin Wendt,Lutz Wisotzki +15 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented the results from a survey of 25 Galactic globular clusters with the MUSE integral-field spectrograph, which provided unique multiplex capabilities in crowded stellar fields and allowed them to acquire samples of up to 20 000 stars within the half-light radius of each cluster.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nearly all the sky is covered by Lyman-α emission around high-redshift galaxies
Lutz Wisotzki,Roland Bacon,Jarle Brinchmann,Jarle Brinchmann,Sebastiano Cantalupo,Philip Richter,Joop Schaye,Kasper B. Schmidt,Tanya Urrutia,Peter M. Weilbacher,Mohammad Akhlaghi,Nicolas Bouché,Thierry Contini,B. Guiderdoni,Edmund Christian Herenz,Hanae Inami,J. Kerutt,Floriane Leclercq,Raffaella Anna Marino,Michael V. Maseda,Ana Monreal-Ibero,Ana Monreal-Ibero,Themiya Nanayakkara,Johan Richard,R. Saust,Matthias Steinmetz,Martin Wendt,Martin Wendt +27 more
TL;DR: Observations of low-surface-brightness Lyman-α emission surrounding faint galaxies at redshifts between 3 and 6 find that the projected sky coverage approaches 100 per cent, suggesting that most circumgalactic atomic hydrogen at these redsh shifts has now been detected in emission.
Journal ArticleDOI
A stellar census in globular clusters with MUSE : Binaries in NGC 3201
Benjamin Giesers,Sebastian Kamann,Stefan Dreizler,Tim-Oliver Husser,Abbas Askar,Fabian Göttgens,Jarle Brinchmann,Jarle Brinchmann,M. Latour,Peter M. Weilbacher,Martin Wendt,Martin M. Roth +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used multi-epoch MUSE spectroscopy to study binary stars in the core of the Galactic globular cluster NGC 3201 and found that at least (57.5'±'7.9'% of blue straggler stars are in a binary system.
