Probabilistic Assessment of Structural Damage due to Earthquakes for Buildings in Mid-America
TL;DR: In this paper, a probabilistic assessment of structural damage due to seismic events with an application to typical building structures in mid-America is presented. But the approach is not suitable for the assessment of building structural vulnerability.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nonlinear Punching Shear Failure Model for Interior Slab-Column Connections
TL;DR: In this article, a model for predicting punching shear failures at interior slab-column connections was developed based on experimental results obtained at various universities and incorporated into a new RC slab element for the nonlinear analysis program, DRAIN-2DM, along with the desired unloading behavior when a punch occurs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mechanical Properties of High-Strength Concrete for Prestressed Members
TL;DR: In this paper, statistical parameters for the mechanical properties of plant-produced high-strength concrete (HSC) were determined and prediction equations relating mechanical properties with the compressive strength were evaluated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Seismic performance of a reinforced concrete frame building in China
Haijuan Duan,Mary Beth D. Hueste +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the seismic performance of a multi-story reinforced concrete frame building designed according to the provisions of the current Chinese seismic code (GB50011-2010) and provided the inelastic behavior and response intended by the code and satisfies the interstory drift and maximum plastic rotation limits suggested by ASCE/SEI 41-06.
Journal ArticleDOI
Seismic Behavior of Wood Diaphragms in Pre-1950s Unreinforced Masonry Buildings
TL;DR: In this article, an experimental testing program on the lateral in-plane behavior of pre-1950s existing and rehabilitated wood floor and roof diaphragms in unreinforced masonry buildings found in the Central and Eastern regions of the United States was described.
