Residual order within thermally grown amorphous SiO 2 on crystalline silicon

TL;DR: The origin of x-ray diffraction peaks observed on the crystal truncation rods (CTR's) in reciprocal space for thermally grown SiO 2 films has been investigated by large-scale atomistic simulation of silicon oxidation as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Velocity of twinning partial dislocations in silicon

TL;DR: The growth velocities of deformation twins in the tangential direction were measured in silicon single crystals by the four-point bending method for temperatures between 350 and 500°C and for shear stresses τ between 80 and 550 MPa as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of External Stresses on the Low Temperature Thermal Oxidation of Silicon

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of external stress appeared in different ways depending on the oxidation temperature, and the linear-parabolic oxidation model (L-P model) was well interpreted with the linearparabolic oxidization model at a temperature lower than 700°C.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mechanical properties of heat-treated Czochralski-grown silicon crystals

TL;DR: In this article, the authors performed compression tests on heat-treated silicon crystals and found that yields depended strongly on the size and density of precipitates induced by heat treatments, and that SiO2 precipitates larger than a few thousand angstroms became the nucleation sites of glide dislocations, causing a decrease in the yield stress.
