TL;DR: This paper presents a meta-analyses of the chiral stationary phase transition of Na6(CO3)(SO4)2, Na2SO4, and Na2CO3 of the Na2O/Na2O 2 mixture at the stationary phase and shows clear patterns in the response of these two materials to each other.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe the hydrogen production from an aqueous medium over amino-functionalized Ti(IV) metal-organic framework (Ti-MOF-NH2) under visible-light irradiation.
Abstract: The present article describes the hydrogen production from an aqueous medium over amino-functionalized Ti(IV) metal–organic framework (Ti-MOF-NH2) under visible-light irradiation. Ti-MOF-NH2, which employs 2-amino-benzenedicarboxylic acid as an organic linker, has been synthesized by a facile solvothermal method. Pt nanoparticles as cocatalysts are then deposited onto Ti-MOF-NH2 via a photodeposition process (Pt/Ti-MOF-NH2). The XRD and N2 adsorption measurements reveal the successful formation of a MOF framework structure and its remaining structure after deposition of Pt nanoparticles. The observable visible-light absorption up to ∼500 nm can be seen in the DRUV–vis spectrum of Ti-MOF-NH2, which is associated with the chromophore in the organic linker. Ti-MOF-NH2 and Pt/Ti-MOF-NH2 exhibit efficient photocatalytic activities for hydrogen production from an aqueous solution containing triethanolamine as a sacrificial electron donor under visible-light irradiation. The longest wavelength available for the ...

TL;DR: In this article, the authors reviewed the development in the highly dispersed titanium oxide photocatalysts prepared on or within zeolites and the visible light-responsive TiO 2 catalysts.
Abstract: Recent development in titanium oxide-based photocatalysts was reviewed concerning the development in the highly dispersed titanium oxide photocatalysts prepared on or within zeolites and the visible light-responsive TiO 2 photocatalysts. The unique and high reactivities of titanium oxide species anchored or incorporated in the zeolite for various photocatalytic reactions such as reduction of CO 2 with H 2 O and direct decomposition of NO x into N 2 and O 2 were discussed focusing on the relationship between the reactivity and local structures of the catalysts. Moreover, the preparation of the visible light-responsive TiO 2 photocatalysts by applying ion-engineering techniques such as an ion-implantation and an RF magnetron sputtering deposition method was discussed focusing on its unique reactivity for the decomposition of water into H 2 and O 2 with a separate evolution under sunlight irradiation.

TL;DR: 3D-MoS2 can adsorb organic molecules and provide multidimensional electron transport pathways, implying a significant potential application for environment remediation and the operating cost of treating a ton of wastewater is only 0.33 $, suggesting it has huge industrial applications.
Abstract: 3D-MoS2 can adsorb organic molecules and provide multidimensional electron transport pathways, implying a potential application for environment remediation. Here, we study the degradation of aromatic organics in advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) by a 3D-MoS2 sponge loaded with MoS2 nanospheres and graphene oxide (GO). Exposed Mo4+ active sites on 3D-MoS2 can significantly improve the concentration and stability of Fe2+ in AOPs and keep the Fe3+ /Fe2+ in a stable dynamic cycle, thus effectively promoting the activation of H2 O2 /peroxymonosulfate (PMS). The degradation rate of organic pollutants in the 3D-MoS2 system is about 50 times higher than without cocatalyst. After a 140 L pilot-scale experiment, it still maintains high efficiency and stable AOPs activity. After 16 days of continuous reaction, the 3D-MoS2 achieves a degradation rate of 120 mg L-1 antibiotic wastewater up to 97.87 %. The operating cost of treating a ton of wastewater is only US$ 0.33, suggesting huge industrial applications.

TL;DR: There is, I think, something ethereal about i —the square root of minus one, which seems an odd beast at that time—an intruder hovering on the edge of reality.
Abstract: There is, I think, something ethereal about i —the square root of minus one. I remember first hearing about it at school. It seemed an odd beast at that time—an intruder hovering on the edge of reality. Usually familiarity dulls this sense of the bizarre, but in the case of i it was the reverse: over the years the sense of its surreal nature intensified. It seemed that it was impossible to write mathematics that described the real world in …
