An analysis of solar wind fluctuations between 1 and 10 AU
Massimo Vellante,A. J. Lazarus +1 more
TL;DR: A cross-correlation analysis between different parameters of the solar wind plasma based on Voyager 1 and 2 data from 1 to 9.5 AU evidences a persistent presence of time periods characterized by high anitcorrelation between the magnetic field magnitude and the proton density.
Journal ArticleDOI

Vecchio,Massimo Vellante,Umberto Villante,Francesca Zuccarello,Balázs Heilig,Jan Reda,János Lichtenberger +36 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a full-halo coronal mass ejection (CME) was associated with an M2-class flare observed at 01:42 UT, located near disk center (N12 E16).
Journal ArticleDOI
Characteristics of middle‐ to low‐latitude Pi2 excited by bursty bulk flows
Jinbin Cao,Juntao Duan,Aiming Du,Yuduan Ma,Zhen‐Xin Liu,G. C. Zhou,Dongmei Yang,Tielong Zhang,Xinlin Li,Massimo Vellante,Henri Rème,Iannis Dandouras,E. A. Lucek,Chris Carr,Qiugang Zong,Qi Li +15 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the characteristics of low-latitude Pi2s generated by an earthward bursty bulk flow (BBF) in the near-Earth tail plasma sheet.
Journal ArticleDOI
The plasmasphere during a space weather event: first results from the PLASMON project
János Lichtenberger,János Lichtenberger,Mark A. Clilverd,Balázs Heilig,Massimo Vellante,Jyrki Manninen,Craig J. Rodger,Andrew B. Collier,Anders M. Jorgensen,Jan Reda,Robert H. Holzworth,R. H. W. Friedel,Mea Simon-Wedlund +12 more
TL;DR: The results of the first 18 months of the PLASMON project are presented in this article, where AWDANet (VLF/whistlers), EMMA/SANSA (ULF/FLRs), and AARDDVARK (perturbations on transmitters' signal) are extended by three, eight, and four new stations, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ground/satellite signatures of field line resonance: A test of theoretical predictions
Massimo Vellante,H. Lühr,T. L. Zhang,Viktor Wesztergom,Umberto Villante,M. De Lauretis,A. Piancatelli,Martin Rother,Konrad Schwingenschuh,W. Koren,Werner Magnes +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present an analysis of a Pc3 geomagnetic pulsation event observed simultaneously in space and at the ground array during the conjunction of 6 July 2002.
