Laser-Induced Magnetic Nanostructures with Tunable Topological Properties
Marco Finazzi,Matteo Savoini,Matteo Savoini,A.R. Khorsand,Arata Tsukamoto,Akiyoshi Itoh,Lamberto Duò,Andrei Kirilyuk,Theo Rasing,Motohiko Ezawa +9 more
TL;DR: The creation and real-space observation of magnetic structures with well-defined topological properties and a lateral size as low as about 150 nm are reported, generated in a thin ferrimagnetic film by ultrashort single optical laser pulses.
Journal ArticleDOI
Role of magnetic circular dichroism in all-optical magnetic recording
A.R. Khorsand,Matteo Savoini,Andrei Kirilyuk,Alexey Kimel,Arata Tsukamoto,Arata Tsukamoto,Akiyoshi Itoh,Theo Rasing +7 more
TL;DR: It is shown that all-optical switching with polarized femtosecond laser pulses in ferrimagnetic GdFeCo is subjected to a threshold fluence absorbed in the magnetic layer, independent of either the excitation wavelength or the polarization of the laser pulse.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nanoscale Confinement of All-Optical Magnetic Switching in TbFeCo - Competition with Nanoscale Heterogeneity
Tianmin Liu,Tianhan Wang,Alexander H. Reid,Matteo Savoini,Xiaofei Wu,Xiaofei Wu,Benny Koene,Patrick W. Granitzka,Patrick W. Granitzka,Catherine Graves,Daniel J. Higley,Zhao Chen,Gary Razinskas,Markus Hantschmann,Andreas Scherz,Joachim Stöhr,Arata Tsukamoto,Bert Hecht,Alexey Kimel,Andrei Kirilyuk,Theo Rasing,Hermann A. Dürr +21 more
TL;DR: In this paper, single femtosecond optical laser pulses, of sufficient intensity, are demonstrated to reverse magnetization in a process known as all-optical switching, where two-wire antennas are placed on the TbFeCo.
Journal ArticleDOI
Near-field polarization shaping by a near-resonant plasmonic cross antenna
TL;DR: In this article, the optical phase in the feed gap of a plasmonic dipole antenna shows a transition from in-phase to counter-phase response, when its length is varied across the resonance length.
Journal ArticleDOI
Self-Assembled Organic Microfibers for Nonlinear Optics
Jialiang Xu,Sergey Semin,Dorota Niedzialek,Paul H. J. Kouwer,Eduard Fron,Eduardo Coutino,Matteo Savoini,Yuliang Li,Johan Hofkens,Hiroshi Uji-i,David Beljonne,Theo Rasing,Alan E. Rowan +12 more
TL;DR: A solution-processed assembly approach is reported to generate non-centrosymmetric single-crystalline organic microfibers with a cumulative dipole moment for anisotropic combined second- and third-order NLO.
