Impedance Modeling and Analysis of Grid-Connected Voltage-Source Converters

TL;DR: In this paper, a small-signal impedance modeling of grid-connected three-phase converters for wind and solar system stability analysis is presented, where a converter is modeled by a positive-sequence and a negative-sequence impedance directly in the phase domain.
Journal ArticleDOI

Constant-Power Load System Stabilization by Passive Damping

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigate passive damping as a general method to stabilize power systems with CPLs, using a representative system model consisting of a voltage source, an LC filter, and an ideal CPL, and demonstrate that a CPL system can be stabilized by a simple damping circuit added to one of the filter elements.
Journal ArticleDOI

Adaptive Control of Grid-Connected Inverters Based on Online Grid Impedance Measurements

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a gain-scheduling adaptive control system that uses online grid impedance measurements, where an impulse response analysis method is programmed in the digital-signal processor (DSP) of the grid-connected inverter.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Online grid impedance identification for adaptive control of grid-connected inverters

TL;DR: In this article, an online implementation of a grid impedance identification method embedded as an ancillary function within the DSP of a Grid-connected inverter is presented, where a nonparametric estimation of the grid impedance is acquired on a cycle-to-cycle basis by injecting a current impulse from the grid connected inverter and performing an online DFT analysis of the impulse response, decomposed into its positive and negative-sequence components to fully characterize the impedance of balanced three-phase grids.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Modeling and mitigation of harmonic resonance between wind turbines and the grid

TL;DR: In this paper, an impedance-based analysis approach is used to characterize the harmonic resonance caused by impedance interactions between the wind inverter and the grid and possible mitigation methods by active damping and grid synchronization design are presented, and their effectiveness demonstrated by simulations and experiments.
