Journal Article
The usefulness of pulsed tissue Doppler for the clinical assessment of right ventricular function.
TL;DR: Investigation of the usefulness of pulsed tissue Doppler (TD) during the assessment of RV transverse and longitudinal function on the basis of the regional velocities and time intervals found it to be useful to evaluate the progression from early RV wall dysfunction until the development of global RV failure and the possible beneficial effect of cardiac drugs on RV function as determined by TD evaluation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Appropriateness criteria for the use of cardiovascular imaging in heart valve disease in adults: a European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging report of literature review and current practice
John C. Chambers,Madalina Garbi,Koen Nieman,Saul G. Myerson,Luc Pierard,Gilbert Habib,José Luis Zamorano,Thor Edvardsen,Patrizio Lancellotti,Victoria Delgado,Bernard Cosyns,Erwan Donal,Raluca Elena Dulgheru,Maurizio Galderisi,Massimo Lombardi,Denisa Muraru,Philipp Kauffmann,Nuno Cardim,Kristina H. Haugaa,Raphael Rosenhek +19 more
TL;DR: This review is a summary of current evidence for state-of-the-art clinical practice to inform appropriateness criteria for heart valve disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
The impact of aging and atherosclerotic risk factors on transthoracic coronary flow reserve in subjects with normal coronary angiography.
Maurizio Galderisi,Fausto Rigo,Sonia Gherardi,Lauro Cortigiani,Ciro Santoro,Rosa Sicari,Eugenio Picano +6 more
TL;DR: Age reduces coronary flow reserve in patients with angiographically normal coronary arteries due to a gradual increase of resting coronary flow velocity, which is also affected by atherosclerotic risk factors and left ventricular hypertrophy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Abnormal left ventricular longitudinal function assessed by echocardiographic and tissue Doppler imaging is a powerful predictor of diastolic dysfunction in hypertensive patients: The SPHERE study
Frank Lloyd Dini,Maurizio Galderisi,Stefano Nistri,Simona Buralli,Piercarlo Ballo,Donato Mele,Luigi P. Badano,Pompilio Faggiano,Cesare de Gregorio,Gian Marco Rosa,Massimo Ciavarella,Eugenia De Marco,Enzo Borruso,Giuliano Marti,Sergio Mondillo,Paolo Nicola Marino +15 more
TL;DR: An abnormal LV long-axis function was a powerful determinant of any LVDD in asymptomatic patients with arterial hypertension.
Journal ArticleDOI
Rapid reversion of Loeffler's endocarditis by imatinib in early stage clonal hypereosinophilic syndrome.
Bruno Rotoli,Lucio Catalano,Maurizio Galderisi,Luigia Luciano,Giuditta Pollio,Anna Guerriero,Arcangelo D'Errico,Cristina Mecucci,Roberta La Starza,Ferdinando Frigeri,Raffaele Di Francia,Antonio Pinto +11 more
TL;DR: Imatinib is an excellent candidate for first line treatment of Loeffler's endocarditis, especially when the FIP1L1/PDGFA fusion gene is detected.
