A New Pyranoxanthone from Calophyllum soulattri

TL;DR: In this article, the chemistry of the stem bark of Calophyllum soulattri has been studied and one new pyranoxanthone, soulattrin (1), together with three other xanthones, including caloxanthones B, C, macluraxanthone (4), the triterpene friedelin (5), and the steroid stigmasterol (6) were identified using analyses of 1D and 2D NMR data.
Journal ArticleDOI

A New Abietene Diterpene and Other Constituents from Kaempferia angustifolia Rosc.

TL;DR: Zeylenol (2), the major constituent of the plant, was derivatized into diacetate, triacetate and epoxide derivatives through standard organic reactions and the cytotoxic activity of compounds 1, 2 and the zeylinol derivatives was evaluated against the HL-60, MCF-7, HT-29 and HeLa cell lines.
Journal ArticleDOI

Two new acridone alkaloids from Glycosmis macrantha.

TL;DR: Two new acridone alkaloids, macranthanine and 7-hydroxynoracronycine, are isolated from dried stem barks of Glycosmis macrantha by detailed spectral analysis and also by comparison with reported data.

Screening of Tropical Plants for the Presence of Bioactive Compounds

TL;DR: A screening procedure far the presence of bioactive compounds from plant sources by using brim: shrimp as the general bio assay has been can;ed out and a number of plant species has been identified for further detailed studies.

Toxicity Studies of Plant Extracts on Insects and Fish

TL;DR: Toxicity studies of several local plant extracts on insects and fish were carried out and the volatile fraction of some of the plant extracts was isolated and the major components were characterized.
