Providing ubiquitous connectivity to diverse device types is the key challenge for 5G and beyond 5G (B5G). Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are expected to be an important component of the upcoming wireless networks that can potentially facilitate wireless broadcast and support high rate transmissions. Compared to the communications with fixed infrastructure, UAV has salient attributes, such as flexible deployment, strong line-of-sight (LoS) connection links, and additional design degrees of freedom with the controlled mobility. In this paper, a comprehensive survey on UAV communication towards 5G/B5G wireless networks is presented. We first briefly introduce essential background and the space-air-ground integrated networks, as well as discuss related research challenges faced by the emerging integrated network architecture. We then provide an exhaustive review of various 5G techniques based on UAV platforms, which we categorize by different domains including physical layer, network layer, and joint communication, computing and caching. In addition, a great number of open research problems are outlined and identified as possible future research directions.

UAV Communications for 5G and Beyond: Recent Advances and Future Trends

Internet of Things (IoT) technology is prospering and entering every part of our lives, be it education, home, vehicles, or healthcare. With the increase in the number of connected devices, several challenges are also coming up with IoT technology: heterogeneity, scalability, quality of service, security requirements, and many more. Security management takes a back seat in IoT because of cost, size, and power. It poses a significant risk as lack of security makes users skeptical towards using IoT devices. This, in turn, makes IoT vulnerable to security attacks, ultimately causing enormous financial and reputational losses. It makes up for an urgent need to assess present security risks and discuss the upcoming challenges to be ready to face the same. The undertaken study is a multi-fold survey of different security issues present in IoT layers: perception layer, network layer, support layer, application layer, with further focus on Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks. DDoS attacks are significant threats for the cyber world because of their potential to bring down the victims. Different types of DDoS attacks, DDoS attacks in IoT devices, impacts of DDoS attacks, and solutions for mitigation are discussed in detail. The presented review work compares Intrusion Detection and Prevention models for mitigating DDoS attacks and focuses on Intrusion Detection models. Furthermore, the classification of Intrusion Detection Systems, different anomaly detection techniques, different Intrusion Detection System models based on datasets, various machine learning and deep learning techniques for data pre-processing and malware detection has been discussed. In the end, a broader perspective has been envisioned while discussing research challenges, its proposed solutions, and future visions.

There is no doubt that new technology has become one of the crucial parts of most people’s lives around the world. By and large, in this era, the Internet and the Internet of Things (IoT) have become the most indispensable parts of our lives. Recently, IoT technologies have been regarded as the most broadly used tools among other technologies. The tools and the facilities of IoT technologies within the marketplace are part of Industry 4.0. The marketplace is too regarded as a new area that can be used with IoT technologies. One of the main purposes of this paper is to highlight using IoT technologies in Industry 4.0, and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is another feature revised. This paper focuses on the value of the IoT in the industrial domain in general; it reviews the IoT and focuses on its benefits and drawbacks, and presents some of the IoT applications, such as in transportation and healthcare. In addition, the trends and facts that are related to the IoT technologies on the marketplace are reviewed. Finally, the role of IoT in telemedicine and healthcare and the benefits of IoT technologies for COVID-19 are presented as well.

A Comprehensive Survey on the Internet of Things with the Industrial Marketplace

Genetic analysis of 90 mango genotypes including juicy, table, dual and pickle types from different parts of Andhra Pradesh of India was carried out employing 143 mango-specific microsatellite markers. Of the 143, 34 were new mango-specific microsatellite loci isolated in the course of the present investigation by constructing an (CA) n and (TG) n -enriched genomic library. Characterization of the 90 genotypes resulted in the detection of 301 alleles from 106 polymorphic loci with an average of 2.87 alleles per locus and polymorphism information content of 0.67. UPGMA cluster analysis grouped all the genotypes into two major groups with a genetic similarity range of 47–88 %. Grouping of the genotypes based on the utility type was observed only at sub-cluster level. Study of population structure by a model-based STRUCTURE analysis revealed the germplasm to exist in four gene pools. Overall F st of 0.11 indicated genetic differentiation between the populations to be low. Analysis of molecular variance revealed that major proportion of the variation was within the individuals (62.25 %). The molecular marker-based study of genetic diversity suggests that the germplasm studied representing the kind of variability would be a valuable genetic resource for future breeding and association mapping in search for new and novel alleles.

Physio-Morphological and Compositional Variation in Ripe Fruit of Three Mango Varieties

The noise, sound pollution, and harshness are steadily increasing alarmingly from various vehicles such as lorries, vans, cars, and buses. It is considered a significant concern in our modern life due to the long-term harmful effect on human health. The excessive vehicular noise and sound pollution mainly affecting in specific areas of smart cities such as hospitals, educational institutes, various private/public organizations. As a result, people are suffering from neurocognitive problems. Therefore, controlling the sound pollution from vehicles are incredibly essential to mitigate health issues globally. However, minimal research was conducted by monitoring vehicular noise intensity in a smart city area using smart, reliable, and sophisticated technologies such as the internet of things (IoT) to mitigate these issues. This paper presents an enhanced intelligent IoT-enabled vehicular noise intensity monitoring system to protect the city dweller’s health by reducing sound pollution in the smart city. We are planned to propose an architectural framework using noise intensity measuring sensors, 360° Camera, 360° LIDAR, GPS (Global Positioning System) in the vehicle with IoT technology for monitoring individual vehicles and their nearby vehicles over the smart city. The proposed system can monitor real-timely vehicular noises and notify designated stakeholders (i.e., vehicle owner, city authority) promptly and stored in the cloud with valid proofs. The proposed system helps to develop an ideal vehicular noise monitoring system over the smart cities and the widespread significance of mitigating health problems that relate to sound pollution and increase public awareness.

A Framework of IoT-Enabled Vehicular Noise Intensity Monitoring System for Smart City

Good Health and Well-being is one of the important goals in the current decade of twenty first century. The people of current generation prefer the consumption of plant sourced bioactive molecules over the modern medicines because the former has no side effects and residue free. In order to mitigate the food requirement of growing global population during the previous century, the green revolution technologies focused on fewer crops leading to negligence of several important crops; popularly known as underutilized or neglected crops. In the list of underutilized crops, Dioscorea spp. occupies significant niche as it is rich in several phytochemicals and could be grown under multiple stress conditions faced by the modern agricultural practices. Besides, it has been known as prominent member under age old practices of “traditional health care system” to treat several malaises of human being during the early date of civilization. The tubers and bulbils of the Dioscorea spp. are rich in saponins, tannin, flavonoids, sterols, polyphenols, and glycosides in addition to its higher contents of basic essential nutrients such as protein, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals etc. Further, its tubers are staple food for indigenous people of several Asian and African countries. Therefore, the Dioscorea spp. signifies as an important crop both to the next generation population as well as underprivileged class of people in the coming decade for good health wellbeing and food security.

The investigation was carried out at Germplasm Centre (BAU-GPC), Bangladesh Agricultural University, during March to July 2016 in order to investigate the effect of pre-harvest fruit bagging on post-harvest quality of guava cv. Swarupkathi. Four different bagging materials viz. brown paper bag, white paper bag, white polythene bag, black polythene bag included for the study and uncovered fruits were used as control treatment. The experiment was laid out in randomized complete block design with three replications. Fruit bagging treatments showed significant effects on different parameters studied. It was observed that fruit size, fruit weight, vitamin C concentration, and moisture content increased due to fruit bagging. Fruits were gained maximum in size (6.59 cm length, 5.86 cm diameter) and weight (164.26 g) under white paper bag followed by white polythene bag (131.3g). The skin color of fruits was very attractive in case of white paper bag than that of other treatments. Total soluble solid concentration of the fruit was found maximum (12.33% Brix) under brown paper bag while maximum vitamin C concentration (162.14 mg 100 g-1) was recorded under white paper bag. Uncovered fruits showed maximum total sugar, non-reducing sugar, reducing sugar concentrations (10.13%, 6.05%, 4.08%, respectively).The results revealed that fruit bagging in general, improved the growth and quality of guava fruits as compared to control. Among the various fruit covering materials, white paper bag was found to be the best for overall improvement of physical and chemical quality of guava cv. Swarupkathi.
