TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined whether awareness and knowledge, convenience of mobile devices and WAP/GPRS enabled handsets, pricing and cost, security and privacy, rich and fast information, and perceived usefulness have any influence on the adoption of M-commerce among employed Mobile phone users in two major cities in Bangladesh.
Abstract: Mobile commerce or better known as M-commerce is a fairly new phenomenon in the wake of the second technology wave from the famous E-commerce (electronic commerce) in the 21st century As the Internet started to proliferate in many parts of the world, the mobile phone penetration in terms of voice communication started to grow rapidly This simultaneous rapid growth has caused a new phenomenon of convergence of Internet computing and mobile communication where M-commerce has its root M-commerce has the potential to enhance the work-life within the employed mobile phone users in Bangladesh The purpose of this study is to examine whether awareness and knowledge, convenience of Mobile devices and WAP/GPRS enabled handsets, pricing and cost, security and privacy, rich and fast information, and perceived usefulness have any influence on the adoption of M-commerce among employed Mobile phone users in two major cities in Bangladesh – Dhaka and Chittagong A survey method was used to collect data The findings suggest that pricing and cost, rich and fast information, and security and privacy are significant predictors of the adoption of M-commerce Self-efficacy is found to be a moderating factor for the adoption of M-commerce services The findings also suggest that there is no significant gender difference in terms of M-commerce adoption level among mobile users in Bangladesh

TL;DR: In this paper, the effectiveness of Modified Jones Model in detecting earnings management among the initial public offerings that are listed between 1985-2005 in the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).
Abstract: This study analyzes the effectiveness of Modified Jones Model in detecting earnings management among the initial public offerings that are listed between 1985 – 2005 in the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE). Prior research documented that the Modified Jones model is effective in detecting earning management in mostly developed economies. However recently an empirical research of Korean stock exchange revealed that the Modified Jones model was not effective in detecting earnings management in the context of Korea. Our findings are similar to the Korean experience. Results of our study confirmed that Modified Jones model is not effective in detecting earnings management in the context of Bangladesh. We employed the modified Jones model to detect earning management in context of Bangladesh capital market and found out that it was not found very effective as the explanatory power of the model was only about 9 percent. This study then attempted to extend the modified Jones model and found it to be very successful. The inclusion of few factors such as revenue, depreciation expenses, retirement benefit expenses, asset disposal gains/losses with the modified model was very effective in detecting earning management in the context of Bangladesh. The explanatory power of the model was increased to about 84 percent. Therefore it is concluded that the modified Jones model is not effective in gauging the extent of earnings management practiced by the IPO firms in the Bangladesh capital market.

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of demographic factors on the effectiveness of the e-learning system in a higher learning Institution was investigated. But the authors did not consider the impact of age, program of study and level of education on the performance of online learning.
Abstract: This research attempted to find out the effect of demographic factors on the effectiveness of the e-learning system in a higher learning Institution. The students from this institution were randomly selected in order to evaluate the effectiveness of learning system in student’s learning process. The primary data source is the questionnaires that were distributed to the students. Data were then analyzed using SPSS. Findings confirmed that age, program of study and level of education has significant affect on the effectiveness of E-learning. Therefore it is recommended that a careful review of delivery methods should be undertaken before starting of every intake taking into consideration of diverse background of students. Comparisons should be made between the effectiveness of e-learning and traditional learning methods via students’ assessment after each session of lecture. It is also recommended that the institution to look into the issue of familiarity of with online learning technology amongst students before introducing the e-learning system to assess whether student are comfortable with the online learning tools.

TL;DR: It is shown that the effect of dust accumulation on the solar panel naturally is shown and how it is possible to overcome this problem.
Abstract: Energy is considered a prime agent in the generation of wealth and a significant factor in economic development. Limited fossil resources and environmental problems associated with them have emphasized the need for new sustainable energy supply options that use renewable energies. Among available technologies for energy production from solar source, photovoltaic system could give a significant contribution to develop a more sustainable energy system. Solar Panel has its wide use starting from a simple 5W diode lamp to a few kW ac drives. A solar panel with a battery and a charge controller and other auxiliary devices like dc to ac converters constitute a Solar Home System (SHS).Solar home system (SHS) is becoming popular day by day and even poor households are now becoming interested to purchase solar home system due to its various advantages. Solar home systems (SHS) have a major problem that is low efficiency. It also decreases output day by day because of improper maintenances, effect of dust and shadow. Accumulation of dust on solar panel of solar photovoltaic (PV) system is a natural process. It was found from the study that the accumulated dust on the surface of photovoltaic solar panel can reduce the system"s efficiency by up to 35% in one month .In this paper we show that the effect of dust accumulation on the solar panel naturally and how it is possible to overcome this problem.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors provide a comprehensive overview of soiling problems, primarily those associated with sand and combined dust-moisture conditions that are inherent to many of the most solar-rich geographic locations worldwide.
Abstract: The energy delivery of a solar-energy system is generally associated with the sun's available irradiance and spectral content, as well as a variety of environmental and climatic factors and inherent system and component performances. However, other external factors relating to geographical location and conditions can have even greater impacts on system performance. Among these, soiling is a commonly overlooked or underestimated issue that can be a showstopper for the viability of a solar installation. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of soiling problems, primarily those associated with “dust” (sand) and combined dust–moisture conditions that are inherent to many of the most solar-rich geographic locations worldwide. We review and evaluate key contributions to the understanding, performance effects, and mitigation of these problems. These contributions span a technical history of almost seven decades. We also present an inclusive literature survey/assessment. The focus is on both transmissive surfaces (e.g., those used for flat-plate photovoltaics or for concentrating lenses) and reflective surfaces (e.g., mirrors or heliostats for concentrating power systems).

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed that satisfaction and loyalty in public transport are associated with five key factors: accessibility, reliability, perceived value, comfort, and safety and security, and collected data from 179 public transport users in Kuching city to test the research model.
Abstract: With an increasing number of privately own vehicles in Malaysia, the popularity of public transports is increasingly challenged by ride-hailing services such as Grab, MyCar, JomRides and MULA. To develop effective strategies aimed at retaining users, it is necessary to understand the factors that affect users’ satisfaction and loyalty in public transport. In this study, we propose that satisfaction and loyalty in public transport are associated with five key factors: accessibility, reliability, perceived value, comfort, and safety and security. Data collected from a survey of 179 public transport users in Kuching city was used to test the research model. Partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was used to analyse the data. The main findings were that safety and security, and reliability significantly affected the users’ satisfaction and loyalty in public transport, while no statistically significant relationship was found among accessibility, satisfaction and loyalty. These findings not only contribute to the theory development of transportation research but also help practitioners to develop novel strategies aimed at increasing public transport usage.
