Journal ArticleDOI

Gasdermin E deficiency attenuates acute kidney injury by inhibiting pyroptosis and inflammation.

TL;DR: In this paper, the role of GSDME in renal cellular pyroptosis and acute kidney injury (AKI) pathogenesis was investigated using mice and human tubular epithelial cells.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antianemia Drug Roxadustat (FG-4592) Protects Against Doxorubicin-Induced Cardiotoxicity by Targeting Antiapoptotic and Antioxidative Pathways.

TL;DR: FG-4592 could protect cardiomyocytes against DOX-induced apoptosis and ROS production in line with the upregulation of HIF-1α and its target genes of Bcl-2 and SOD2 and displayed anticancer property in cancer cells treated with or without DOX.
Journal ArticleDOI

Isoquercitrin Ameliorates Cisplatin-Induced Nephrotoxicity Via the Inhibition of Apoptosis, Inflammation, and Oxidative Stress.

TL;DR: In vivo and in vitro findings demonstrated that IQC administration could significantly protect against cisplatin nephrotoxicity possibly through ameliorating apoptosis, inflammation and oxidative stress accompanied by cross talk with p-ERK.
Journal ArticleDOI

Celastrol attenuates ox-LDL-induced mesangial cell proliferation via suppressing NLRP3 inflammasome activation.

TL;DR: Celastrol potently blocked ox-LDL-induced MC proliferation, possibly by inhibiting NLRP3 inflammasome activation, and suggest that celastrol may be a potential drug for treating proliferative glomerular diseases related to obesity and lipid disorders.
Journal ArticleDOI

Inhibition of mitochondrial complex I activity attenuates neointimal hyperplasia by inhibiting smooth muscle cell proliferation and migration.

TL;DR: Findings indicated that ROT could block neointima formation by preventing the proliferation and migration of MOVA cells, possibly by inhibiting the mitochondrial respiratory chain activity, ATP production, AKT phosphorylation, MMP-9 activation, and ROS production.
