Journal ArticleDOI

The influence of greenhouse-integrated photovoltaics on crop production

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe the current state-of-the-art in greenhouse-integrated opaque photovoltaics and their limitations, particularly with respect to the compatibility with certain plant cultivars, and propose semi-transparent PVs (Dye-Sensitized solar Cells, DSCs) as alternative greenhouse glazing that offers advantages including enhanced thermal stabilisation and similar or improved edible biomass yields.
Journal ArticleDOI

A copper nickel mixed oxide hole selective layer for Au-free transparent cuprous oxide photocathodes

TL;DR: In this paper, a transparent and cost-efficient copper-nickel mixed oxide (CuO/NiO) thin film was proposed for photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting, which is prepared by a facile sequential sputtering deposition combined with annealing process in air.
Journal ArticleDOI

Stable and Efficient Organic Dye-Sensitized Solar Cell Based on Ionic Liquid Electrolyte

TL;DR: In this paper, a co-sensitized, ionic liquid electrolyte-based DSC was proposed for outdoor applications with high efficiency and long-term stability, achieving a solar to electric power-conversion efficiency of 10%.
