TL;DR: In this paper, a system and method for automatic enforcement of firmware revision in an information handling system are disclosed, which includes checking, verifying, and flagging a revision status of the firmware for each of the hardware devices attached to the interconnection.
Abstract: A system and method for automatic enforcement of firmware revision in an information handling system are disclosed. The method includes scanning an interconnection for hardware devices attached to the interconnection in an information handling system and determining an interconnection compatibility of each hardware device attached to the interconnection based on checking, verifying, and flagging a revision status of the firmware for each of the hardware devices attached to the interconnection. The method also includes displaying a warning to a user about possible compatibility issues, based on determining the interconnection compatibility of each of the hardware devices attached to the interconnection and determining whether a supported revision of firmware for each of the hardware devices attached to the interconnection is locally stored as a single uniform release, based on determining the interconnection compatibility of each of the hardware devices attached to the interconnection. The method also includes prompting the user whether to proceed with a firmware upgrade for each of the hardware devices attached to the interconnection using the locally stored supported revision of the firmware for each of the hardware devices attached to the interconnection in the single uniform release, based on determining the interconnection compatibility of each of the hardware devices attached to the interconnection and upgrading automatically the firmware for each of the hardware devices attached to the interconnection based on prompting the user.

TL;DR: In this article, a system update can be implemented between mobile phones through a wireless network without depending on an update server or downloading an update file from the update server, and facilitating exchange of systems between mobile phone users.
Abstract: A method, a system, and a terminal for performing a system update between mobile communication terminals. The method includes: determining, by a target mobile terminal, whether hardware is compatible with a source mobile terminal; if the hardware is compatible between both terminals, obtaining, by the target mobile terminal through a wireless network, a system backup file transferred by the source mobile terminal; and performing, by the target mobile terminal, a system update according to the system backup file. A system update can be implemented between mobile phones through a wireless network without depending on an update server or downloading an update file from the update server, thereby reducing the burden of the update server, and facilitating exchange of systems between mobile phone users.

TL;DR: In this paper, a method of power management for devices in a data storage fabric is described, which includes a PHY having a first power condition and a second power condition coupled to a power condition independent device on the data storage fabrics.
Abstract: A method of power management for devices in a data storage fabric is disclosed. The data storage fabric includes a PHY having a first power condition and a second power condition coupled to a power condition independent device on the data storage fabric. The power condition independent device detects a change in the power configuration of the PHY from the first power condition to the second power condition. The power condition independent device then changes its power state to a comparable power state preselected to correspond with the second power condition.

TL;DR: In this paper, a magnetic recording medium comprising a magnetic layer comprising a ferromagnetic powder and a binder on one surface of a non-magnetic support and a backcoat layer on the other surface of the nonMAGnetic support was proposed.
Abstract: An aspect of the present invention relates to a magnetic recording medium comprising a magnetic layer comprising a ferromagnetic powder and a binder on one surface of a nonmagnetic support and a backcoat layer on the other surface of the nonmagnetic support, wherein a number of indentations equal to or greater than 20 nm in depth present on the magnetic layer surface is equal to or less than 100/10,000 μm 2 , a sol component ratio in the magnetic layer is equal to or less than 5.0 percent, and the support has an amount of heat absorption based on enthalpy relaxation ranging from 0.5 J/g to 2.0 J/g, and a glass transition temperature Tg ranging from 110° C. to 140° C. The present invention further relates to a method of reproducing magnetic signals and magnetic signal reproduction system in which the magnetic recording medium is employed.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors provide potential solutions for UEFI devices by scanning an information code generated by an UEFI device while the UEFI is operating according to a UEFI environment.
Abstract: An example provides potential solutions for UEFI devices. The example includes scanning an information code generated by the UEFI device while the UEFI is operating according to a UEFI environment. The example further includes requesting a potential solution from a decision device. The request specifies an information code comprising resource information and one or more parameters for a current state of the UEFI environment. The example also includes presenting a representation of the potential solution.

TL;DR: In this paper, an industrial control system includes an industrial controller with a processor executing a program stored in a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium and having a user interface and a network interface for communicating over a first control network with another industrial controller having a networkinterface.
Abstract: An industrial control system includes an industrial controller with a processor executing a program stored in a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium and having a user interface and a network interface for communicating over a first control network with another industrial controller having a network interface. The other industrial controller has an additional network interface for communicating over a second control network with an industrial device. The program instructs the processor to retrieve installation information contained in the other industrial controller and the industrial device; build a data structure comprising the retrieved information; periodically monitor for a hardware failure; and send a message alarm in response to detection of a hardware failure. As a result, the installation base of the industrial system and any hardware failures are quickly understood and martial data collection is avoided.
