TL;DR: The genome-wide characteristics of rare (<1% frequency) copy number variation in ASD are analysed using dense genotyping arrays to reveal many new genetic and functional targets in ASD that may lead to final connected pathways.
Journal ArticleDOI
Autism diagnostic observation schedule: a standardized observation of communicative and social behavior.
Catherine Lord,Michael Rutter,Susan Goode,Jacquelyn Heemsbergen,Jacquelyn Heemsbergen,Heather Jordan,Heather Jordan,Lynn Mawhood,Eric Schopler +8 more
TL;DR: Clinical guidelines for the diagnosis of autism in the draft version of ICD-10 were operationalized in terms of abnormalities on specific ADOS items, and an algorithm based on these items was shown to have high reliability and discriminant validity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Adult outcome for children with autism
TL;DR: Although outcome for adults with autism has improved over recent years, many remain highly dependent on others for support and more fine-grained research is needed into the childhood variables that are associated with good or poor outcome.
Book
Sex Differences in Antisocial Behaviour: Conduct Disorder, Delinquency, and Violence in the Dunedin Longitudinal Study
TL;DR: The recommendation to relax the criteria for diagnosing conduct disorder in girls and the effects of antisocial behaviour on young adult outcomes is evaluated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Autism screening questionnaire: Diagnostic validity
TL;DR: The ASQ has good discriminative validity with respect to the separation of PDD from non-PDD diagnoses at all IQ levels, with a cut-off of 15 proving most effective.
