Journal ArticleDOI

The mass content of the Sculptor dwarf spheroidal galaxy

TL;DR: In this article, the mass content of the Sculptor dwarf spheroidal galaxy was determined based on a novel approach which takes into account the two distinct stellar populations present in this galaxy, which helps to partially break the well-known mass-anisotropic degeneracy present in the modelling of pressure-supported stellar systems.

New space motion of the Galactic globular cluster Palomar 5

TL;DR: In this article, a new space motion of the Galactic globular clus- ter Pal 5 has been obtained on the basis of the proper mo- tion determination from 11 Schmidt plates with a time base line of 39 years.
Book ChapterDOI

A Multi-Colour Survey For High-Redshift Quasars

TL;DR: In this article, the application of technigues which utilise all the information contained in multi-colour surveys of stellar-like objects can be employed to detect guasars over an extended redshift range.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Monitor project: Rotation periods of low-mass stars in M50

TL;DR: In this article, a time-series photometric survey of M50 (NGC 2323), a ~130 Myr open cluster, was carried out using the CTIO 4m Blanco telescope and Mosaic-II detector as part of the Monitor project.
