Journal ArticleDOI
Thermal properties of single-crystal La2CuO4- Delta.
Donald T. Morelli,Joseph P. Heremans,Gary L. Doll,P. J. Picone,Hans P. Jenssen,Mildred S. Dresselhaus +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the thermal conductivity, Raman spectrum, magnetic susceptibility, and specific heat of a single crystal was measured from room temperature down to 10 K. The results were correlated with a strongly temperature-dependent phonon-magnon scattering mechanism, with changes in the magnetic structure as identified through susceptibility studies.
Journal Article
Raman enhancement of blood constituent proteins using graphene
TL;DR: It is shown that Raman spectra acquired from biomacromolecules can be reproducibly enhanced when these molecules are placed in contact with graphene, and offers a new strategy for label-free biosensing owing to the molecular fingerprinting capability, signal reliability, and simplicity of graphene.
Journal ArticleDOI
Role of intertube interactions in double- and triple-walled carbon nanotubes.
Thomas Ch. Hirschmann,Paulo T. Araujo,Hiroyuki Muramatsu,Joaquin F. Rodriguez-Nieva,Max Seifert,Kornelius Nielsch,Yoong Ahm Kim,Yoong Ahm Kim,Mildred S. Dresselhaus +8 more
TL;DR: It is explained how the surroundings of the nanotubes in a multiwalled system influence their radial breathing modes, and metallic innermost tubes, when compared to their semiconducting counterparts, clearly show weaker intertube interactions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Studies of the Chemical and Pore Structures of the Carbon Aerogels Synthesized by Gelation and Supercritical Drying in Isopropanol
Ruowen Fu,Ruowen Fu,Bo Zheng,Jie Liu,Steve Weiss,Jackie Y. Ying,Mildred S. Dresselhaus,Gene Dresselhaus,Joe H. Satcher,Theodore F. Baumann +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the carbon aerogel (CA-IPA) samples were characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), scanning electron microscopy, and a surface area analyzer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mass-related inversion symmetry breaking and phonon self-energy renormalization in isotopically labeled AB-stacked bilayer graphene
Paulo T. Araujo,Otakar Frank,D. L. Mafra,Wenjing Fang,Jing Kong,Mildred S. Dresselhaus,M. Kalbac,M. Kalbac +7 more
TL;DR: A mass-related symmetry breaking in isotopically labeled bilayer graphene was investigated during in-situ electrochemical charging of AB stacked (AB-2LG) and turbostratic layers.
