Guidelines for the use and interpretation of assays for monitoring autophagy (3rd edition)

Daniel J. Klionsky, +2522 more
- 21 Jan 2016 -
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a set of guidelines for the selection and interpretation of methods for use by investigators who aim to examine macro-autophagy and related processes, as well as for reviewers who need to provide realistic and reasonable critiques of papers that are focused on these processes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Recombinant receptor-binding domain of SARS-CoV spike protein expressed in mammalian, insect and E. coli cells elicits potent neutralizing antibody and protective immunity

TL;DR: It is suggested that all three rRBDs are effective in eliciting immune responses and protection against SARS-CoV and any of the above expression systems can be used for production of rR BD-based SARS subunit vaccines.
Journal ArticleDOI

A New Mechanism of Vitamin C Effects on A/FM/1/47(H1N1) Virus-Induced Pneumonia in Restraint-Stressed Mice

TL;DR: The protective effects of vitamin C on influenza virus-caused pneumonia might be related to its inhibition of CORT synthesis, which reduces the susceptibility to influenza viral infection in restraint-stressed mice.
Journal ArticleDOI

CL-385319 inhibits H5N1 avian influenza A virus infection by blocking viral entry.

TL;DR: It is shown that CL-385319 is effective in inhibiting infection of highly pathogenic H5N1 influenza A virus in Madin-Darby Canine Kidney (MDCK) cells with an IC50 of 27.03±2.54 μM, and this compound can serve as a lead for development of novel virus entry inhibitors for preventing and treating H5n1 influenzaA virus infection.
