Journal ArticleDOI

Chemical and morphological variations of Panax notoginseng and their relationship.

TL;DR: Statistic analysis of correlation between morphologic variation and chemical variation suggests that some morphological characters, such as root weight, plant height and peduncle length, can be correlated with saponin contents and can be used as important selective traits for selective breeding.
Journal ArticleDOI

ortho-Substituted C-aryl glucosides as highly potent and selective renal sodium-dependent glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors

TL;DR: Introduction of an appropriate ortho substituent at the proximal phenyl ring adjacent to the glycosidic bond was found to improve SGLT2 inhibitory activity and dramatically increase selectivity for hS GLT2 over hSGLT1.
Journal ArticleDOI

Phenolic Antioxidants from the Leaves of Camellia pachyandra Hu.

TL;DR: Though the secondary metabolites without caffeine and catechins are different from the commonly consumed tea plants, the results suggested that the leaves of C. pachyandra, rich in hydrolyzable tannins as potent antioxidants, could be developed as an ideal resource for a natural beverage without caffeine.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chemical constituents from Piper wallichii

TL;DR: Fifteen known compounds including four triterpenoids, one sterol, one diketopiperazine alkaloid and nine phenolics were isolated from the stems of Piper wallichii and the structure of compound 1 was fully assigned by 1D and 2D NMR experiments for the first time.
Journal ArticleDOI

Iridoidal glucosides from Gentiana rhodantha

TL;DR: Six new iridoidal glucosides, 2′-O-(3″-hydroxybenzoyl)-8-epikingiside, kingiside (10), secologanoside (11), secoxyloganin (12), and alpigenoside (13), were isolated from the whole plant of Gentiana rhodantha (Gentianaceae).
