Journal ArticleDOI

Chronic chlorpyrifos exposure elicits diet-specific effects on metabolism and the gut microbiome in rats.

TL;DR: The results suggest risk assessments for chlorpyrifos exposure should consider other effects in addition to neurotoxicity, including the abundance of opportunistic pathogens, short chain fatty acid-producing bacteria and other bacteria previously associated with obese and diabetic phenotypes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of Lactobacillus salivarius Ren on cancer prevention and intestinal microbiota in 1, 2-dimethylhydrazine-induced rat model.

TL;DR: The findings suggested that Ren is a potential agent for colon cancer prevention and a potential therapeutic approach based on the modulation of intestinal microflora by probiotics may be beneficial in the prevention of colorectal carcinogenesis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Bovine lactoferrin binds oleic acid to form an anti-tumor complex similar to HAMLET.

TL;DR: LF-OA induced apoptosis in tumor cells through both death receptor- and mitochondrial-mediated pathways and provided a theoretical basis for further exploration of protein-OA complexes.
