TL;DR: Amphiphilic carbonaceous material (ACM), with nanoscale dispersion in alkaline aqueous solutions, is synthesized from green needle coke as discussed by the authors, which guarantees subsequent ACM-based activated carbons (AACs) with high specific surface area over 3000m2g−1 as well as well-developed mesoporous structure after KOH activation.

TL;DR: Spherical hard carbon (SHC) was easily prepared by one-step programmed heating of potato starch under inert atmosphere as mentioned in this paper, and the as-prepared hard carbon spherules preserved original spherical shapes of natural potato starch granules and had widely dispersed diameters which were smaller than those of potato granules.

TL;DR: In this paper, a (Ni/Fe)-NSDCNDC/NSDC/LiNiZnO-NSDC by all nano-composite materials and operated at low temperature range of 500-600°C was reported.
Abstract: Nano-structural components have attracted increasing attention in intermediate/low temperature ceramic fuel cell. We reported here a ceramic fuel cell with a configuration of (Ni/Fe)-NSDC/NSDC/LiNiZnO-NSDC by all nano-composite materials and operated at low temperature range of 500-600°C. The prepared nanocomposite materials are characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Emission scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Electrochemical performances were studied by current -Voltage, power density characteristics and Ac impedance spectroscopy. The short term stability of fuel cell was also investigated in 100 min. The high fuel cell performance and reasonable stability demonstrated that the all nanocomposite fuel cell concept is feasible and may have great potential in future study.

TL;DR: Carbon microspheres were synthesized through polymerization of urea/formaldehyde in the presence of formic acid as catalyst, followed by drying and carbonization in an inert atmosphere as discussed by the authors.

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of primary quinoline insoluble (PQI) on the formation process of mesocarbon microbeads (MCMBs) have been investigated through comparison of microstructural characteristics of PQI and MCMBs, which were comprehensively identified by Fourier transform infrared, solid-state 13C nuclear magnetic resonance and X-ray diffraction.
