Journal ArticleDOI

A stable silicon-based allene analogue with a formally sp -hybridized silicon atom

TL;DR: The synthesis of a thermally stable, crystalline trisilaallene derivative containing a formally sp-hybridized silicon atom is reported, and it is found that, in contrast to linear carbon allenes, the tristannaallene is significantly bent.
Book ChapterDOI

Progress in the Chemistry of Stable Disilenes

TL;DR: In this article, the authors discuss present advances in novel synthetic methods for various types of stable disilenes, such as cyclic and bicyclic disilene and conjugated tetrasiladienes.
Journal ArticleDOI

An isolable dialkylsilylene and its derivatives. A step toward comprehension of heavy unsaturated bonds

TL;DR: Using perturbation molecular orbital (PMO) theory, the importance of pi-sigma* mixing is emphasized to figure out the key issues of heavy unsaturated bonds.
Journal ArticleDOI

Isolable silylene, disilenes, trisilaallene, and related compounds

TL;DR: In this article, a trisilaallene, the first stable compound with formal sp-hybridized silicon atom, was synthesized using the silylene, which was thermally very stable and showed remarkable spiroconjugation between the two ring p systems.
