Journal ArticleDOI
Unambiguously Enhanced Ultraviolet Luminescence of AlGaN Wavy Quantum Well Structures Grown on Large Misoriented Sapphire Substrate
Haiding Sun,Somak Mitra,Ram Chandra Subedi,Yi Zhang,Wei Guo,Jichun Ye,Mohammad Khaled Shakfa,Tien Khee Ng,Boon S. Ooi,Iman S. Roqan,Zi-Hui Zhang,Jiangnan Dai,Changqing Chen,Shibing Long +13 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Molecular properties of liquid crystals in the terahertz frequency range
Nico Vieweg,Christian Jansen,Mohammad Khaled Shakfa,Maik Scheller,N. Krumbholz,Rafal Wilk,Martin Mikulics,Martin Koch +7 more
TL;DR: The principle polarizabilities and the order parameter S are deduced by applying Vuks' approximation and Haller's approach and the observed terahertz properties are linked to the molecular structure of the liquid crystals.
Journal ArticleDOI
THz Properties of Nematic Liquid Crystals
TL;DR: In this paper, the terahertz properties of a set of nematic liquid crystals were systematically studied using time domain spectroscopy to obtain data between 0.2 THz up to 2.5 THz.
Journal ArticleDOI
Surface-Passivated AlGaN Nanowires for Enhanced Luminescence of Ultraviolet Light Emitting Diodes
Haiding Sun,Mohammad Khaled Shakfa,Mufasila Mumthaz Muhammed,Bilal Janjua,Kuang-Hui Li,Ronghui Lin,Tien Khee Ng,Iman S. Roqan,Boon S. Ooi,Xiaohang Li +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an effective method to suppress undesirable surface recombination of the AlGaN nanowires via diluted potassium hydroxide (KOH) solution, a commonly used chemical process in semiconductor fabrication, was presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
BL037: A nematic mixture with high terahertz birefringence
TL;DR: In this paper, the properties of the nematic mixture BL037 with terahertz time domain spectroscopy were investigated and it was shown that the mixture exhibits the largest terAhertz birefringence reported so far for liquid crystals.
