Journal ArticleDOI
Ten years' experiences in the treatment of nonaneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage: A retrospective analysis of outcome parameters in a single-center study
Mohammed Alhoobi,Fatma Faris Abu-Qadous,Mohsin Khan,Ahmed Shaaban,Nissar Shaikh,Firas Hammadi,Raed Abu-Jarir,Walid Albanna,Ghaya Alrumaihi,Sirajelddin Belkhair,Arun R Babu,Ali Ayyad +11 more
TL;DR: In this study, the pattern of bleeding affects the initial presentation, clinical course, and complications in patients with nonaneurysmal SAH, and the clinical and functional outcomes in the majority of patients were comparable in both groups with good prognosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Translamina terminalis approach to the hypothalamus using supraorbital craniotomy: Technical note and comparison with other surgical corridors
Mohammed Alhoobi,Adnan Khan,Fatma Faris Abu-Qadous,Ralf A. Kockro,Firas Hammadi,Raed Abu Jarir,Sirajeddin Belkhair,Ali Ayyad +7 more
TL;DR: The supra-orbital craniotomy for trans-lamina terminalis approach is a valid surgical choice for hypothalamic lesions and the major strengths include minimal brain retraction and direct end-on view; however, the long and narrow surgical corridor requires some technical familiarization.
Journal ArticleDOI
Rare pontine metastasis operated via endoscopic transsphenoidal transclival approach, a case report and brief review of literature
TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented a case of a 47-year old woman who was diagnosed with metastatic endometrial adenocarcinoma in the form of solitary pontine lesion after 3 years of initial diagnosis of uterine adenometric cancer, which was operated via endoscopic endonasal transsphenoidal transclival approach followed by radiotherapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lateral cervical approach for ventrally located upper cervical meningioma: Experience of 14 cases with a narrative comparison with other surgical techniques.
Ali Ayyad,Mohammed Alhoobi,Ralf A. Kockro,Ahmed Shaaban,Gerd Dr Ing Kessel,Tareq Kanaan,Elias A Dumour,Firas Hammadi,Raed Abu Jarir,Mohammed Maan Al-Salihi +9 more
TL;DR: A lateral cervical approach is a safe approach for ventrally-located upper cervical lesions and offered enough exposure for a safe dissection and total or extensive subtotal removal of the tumors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Two-stage endoscopic assisted approach for large pineal region and falcotentorial meningioma: first stage paramedian supracerebellar infratentorial approach, second stage interhemispheric occipital transtentorial approach: surgical cases and anatomical study
Lucas Ezequiel Serrano Sponton,Ahmed Shaaban,Eleftherios Archavlis,Mohammed Alhoobi,A. Nimer,Jens Conrad,Sven R. Kantelhardt,Ali Ayyad +7 more
TL;DR: IOTA and PSIA may be advantageous in terms of brain retraction, vein sacrifice, and operability along the PR and PIS and can be effective for resection of complex falcotentorial meningiomas.
