Abstract: Commercial and environmental benefits have made carbon dioxide (CO2) methanation one of the topmost research projects all over the world both at the pilot plant and commercial scale. Mitigation of CO2 via carbon capture and storage (CCS) routes have less motivation from a commercial point of view. Therefore, an integrated system is of paramount importance to convert CO2 into value-added products such as methane (CH4) using solar energy (photosynthesis) or surplus electrical energy in hydrolysis for production of reactant hydrogen to use in CO2 methanation. To date, great efforts have been made to investigate both the reaction mechanism and catalysts development for methanation. Abstract: We have investigated the magnetic and electrical response of the sol-gel synthesized NiFe2O4 nanoparticles. Changes in the impedance plane plots with temperature have been discussed and correlated to the microstructure of the material. Thermally activated hopping carriers between Fe3+-Fe2+ and Ni2+-Ni3+ ions have been determined for a decrease in the resistance of the sample and a change in the conduction mechanism around 318 K. The mixed spinel structure and broken exchange bonds due to small size effects are due to the canted spin structure at the surface of the nanoparticles. The magnetization is found to be influenced by the surface spin canting and anisotropy. We have established the semiconducting to metallic transition (SMT) temperature to be around 358 K in terms of localized and delocalized eg electrons along with a transition from less conductive [Fe3+–O2−–Fe3+] and [Ni2+–O2−–Ni2+] linkage to more conductive [Fe3+–Fe2+] and [Ni2+–Ni3+] linkage at the octahedral B site. Abstract: In the last few decades of industrialization, the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere had increased rapidly. Different organizations have invested considerable funds in research activities worldwide for CO2 capture and storage. To date, significant work has been done and various technologies have been proposed for CO2 capture and storage. Both adsorption and absorption are promising techniques for CO2 capture, but low-temperature adsorption processes using solid adsorbents are the prevailing technique nowadays. In this review paper, a variety of adsorbents such as carbonaceous materials, dry alkali metal-based sorbents, zeolites, metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) and microporous organic polymers (MOPs) have been studied. Various methods of chemical or physical modification and the effects of supporting materials have been discussed to enhance CO2 capture capacity of these adsorbents. Low-temperature (<100 °C) adsorption processes for CO2 capture are critically analyzed and concluded on the basis of information available so far in the literature. All the information in CO2 adsorption using different routes has been discussed, summarized and thoroughly presented in this review article. The most important comparative study of relatively new material MOFs and MOPs is carried out between the groups and with other sorbent as well.

Abstract: Big Data encompasses large volume of complex structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data, which is beyond the processing capabilities of conventional databases. The processing and analysis of Big Data now play a central role in decision making, forecasting, business analysis, product development, customer experience, and loyalty, to name but a few. In this paper, we examine the distinguishing characteristics of Big Data along the lines of the 3Vs: variety, volume, and velocity. Accordingly, the paper provides an insight into the main processing paradigms in relation to the 3Vs. It defines a lifecycle for Big Data processing and classifies various available tools and technologies in terms of the lifecycle phases of Big Data, which include data acquisition, data storage, data analysis, and data exploitation of the results. This paper is first of its kind that reviews and analyzes current trends and technologies in relation to the characteristics, evolution, and processing of Big Data. Abstract: In the modern micro-electronics, transition metal oxides due to their colossal values of dielectric permittivity possess huge potential for the development of capacitive energy storage devices. In the present work, the dielectric permittivity and the effects of temperature and frequency on the electrical transport properties of polycrystalline NdFeO3, prepared by solid state reaction method, are discussed. Room temperature Mossbauer spectrum confirms the phase purity, octahedral environment for Fe ion, and high spin state of Fe3+ ion. From the impedance spectroscopic measurements, three relaxation processes are observed, which are related to grains, grain boundaries (gbs), and electrode-semiconductor contact in the measured temperature and frequency ranges. Decrease in resistances and relaxation times of the grains and grain boundaries with temperature confirms the involvement of thermally activated conduction mechanisms. Abstract: CO2 conversion covers a wide range of possible application areas from fuels to bulk and commodity chemicals and even to specialty products with biological activity such as pharmaceuticals. In the present review, we discuss selected examples in these areas in a combined analysis of the state-of-the-art of synthetic methodologies and processes with their life cycle assessment. Thereby, we attempted to assess the potential to reduce the environmental footprint in these application fields relative to the current petrochemical value chain. This analysis and discussion differs significantly from a viewpoint on CO2 utilization as a measure for global CO2 mitigation. Whereas the latter focuses on reducing the end-of-pipe problem “CO2 emissions” from todays’ industries, the approach taken here tries to identify opportunities by exploiting a novel feedstock that avoids the utilization of fossil resource in transition toward more sustainable future production. Abstract: Despite hospitality and tourism researchers’ recent attempts on examining different aspects of online word-of-mouth [WOM], its impact on hotel sales remains largely unknown in the existing literature. To fill this void, we conduct a study to empirically investigate the impact of online consumer-generated reviews on hotel room sales. Utilizing data collected from the largest travel website in China, we develop a fixed effect log-linear regression model to assess the influence of online reviews on the number of hotel room bookings. Our results indicate a significant relationship between online consumer reviews and business performance of hotels.
