TL;DR: Genomic instability co-segregated with inactivation of DNA maintenance genes (BRCA1, BRCA2 or PALB2) and a mutational signature of DNA damage repair deficiency, and 4 of 5 individuals with these measures of defective DNA maintenance responded to platinum therapy.

TL;DR: It is shown that a specific polymorphism in the PPL gene could confer resistance to erlotinib and other EGFR inhibitors and further work to evaluate these as biomarkers of response is warranted.

TL;DR: The functional utility of GENIPAC was demonstrated with some of the genomic alterations that are commonly reported in HNC, such as TP53, EGFR, CCND1, and PIK3CA, and it was shown that these genomic alterations as reported in The Cancer Genome Atlas database were recapitulated in the HNC cell lines inGENIPAC.
