This article discusses causative construction of Deli Javanese dialect which focuses on morphological and analytic causative construction. This study aims to reveal how  morphological and analytic causative constructions in Deli Javanese dialect are formed. The theory of causative construction concept is based on Comrie (1989). The research data  were obtained from text books, journals and interview. The causative construction in this analysis was elaborated by using tree diagram. The result showed that the morphological causative construction of Deli Javanese dialect utilized the verbs, which were shown by prefixes and suffixes. The causative construction in the verb nggodoke ‘boil something for somebody’ is derived from nggodok ‘boil’; thus, it is indicated by the suffix –e . Meanwhile, the analytic causative construction utilized nggawe ‘make’ in which it indicates an action with desire. Furthermore, Analytic causative construction in Deli Javanese dialect is a clause construction, which has two predicates. This research finally provides some contributions and references for any further research related to the causative construction within any languages.

Morphological and analytic causative construction in deli javanese dialect

This study attempts to describe morphological causative in Asahan Malay Language (AML). This research employed qualitative approach. This study followed the steps of data collection and data analysis. The data of this research were obtained through field linguistics method which covered direct elicitation, recording, and elicitation checking. The classified data were clarified with the native speakers of this language to improve the reliability of the data. From the analysis, it can be concluded that morphological causative construction in AML implies that the meaning of cause and effect. It is indicated by the use of suffix –kan and - i. In addition, causative markers of –kan and –i in AML can be attached to verbs, adjectives, nouns, and numerals.

Causative construction in asahan malay language: morphological causative analysis

This study discusses causative construction in Acehnese language typologically. The problems studied were (1) the type of causative construction of the Aceh language typologically, (2) the relationship of the causative construction of Aceh language in typology, and (3) structures that establish the causative construction of Acehnese language. Research data, both oral and written, were obtained by speaking and listening methods. All data are examined by the identity and distributional methods. The results of the study showed that typologically the causative construction of Aceh language consists of morphological causative, lexical causative and analytic causative. Aceh language causative construction in this paper is investigated through parameters of semantics and formal. This construction was produced by combination of clause and conjunction ‘ kerna ’ or ‘ seubap ’; using analytical causative verb ‘ peugot ’ and ‘ geuyu ’; morphological causative affixes ‘ meu- ‘, ‘ peu- ‘ and ‘ seu- ‘; and using certain lexical causative in which have causative meaning. The relationship of the causative construction of the Aceh language in a syntactic typology, namely causative morphology and lexical causative was included in the causative construction of monoclauses, whereas analytic causative was included in the causative construction of biclauses. Structurally, testing is done by pinning syntactic operations, hence causative analytic was formed by biclauses structures, while lexical and morphological causative was formed by monoclausal structures.

Causative construction of aceh language: typology approach

This article aims to investigate market names in Medan. This study used natural semantic metalanguage theory. The type of this research is descriptive qualitative. In data collection, interviews and observations were conducted.  The results showed that Medan people named their markets based on the markets’ location, time and environmental conditions. Market names in Medan contain denotative or connotative meaning.  The difference in the market name’s meaning reflects thoughts underlying the word. The paraphrase of the market name’s meaning can provide an understanding of the use of market names in Medan.

The research is conducted to an analysis on relative clause in three languages. The aim of this paper is to compare of relative clause in three languages, namely Indonesian, English and Arabic. The research stage in analyzing the data was data collection, data classifying, data presenting. The result of the research is similarities and differences in the structure of relative clause in English, Indonesian and Arabic. Types of relative clause in English are defining and non-defining clauses, types of relative clause in Indonesian are Restrictive and Non-Restrictive relative clause and types of relative clause in Arabic are definite and indefinite relative clause.
