Hydrocarbon composition of extracts obtained from petroleum fractions by extractive crystallization with thiourea

1. 1. A new group of saturated diterpenoid tetracyclic hydrocarbons, (C 19 H 32 , of was found in Turkmen petroleum and condensates. 2. 2. The structure of these hydrocarbons was confirmed by 1 H and 13 C NMR and GC/MS. 3. 3. 4,8-Dimethyl-13-isopropyltetracyclo[6·6.0.0(du1.11)0 3.7 ]- and 5,14-dimethyl-13-isopropyltetracyclo[6.4.1.1 1.9 0 4.13 ] tetradecanes were found to be the main hydrocarbons of this series.

Diterpenoid tetracyclic hydrocarbons of petroleum

Summary Lycopane (2,6,10,14,19,23,27,31-octamethyldotriacontane) and its structural isomer-isolycopane (2,6,10,14,17,21,25,29-octamethyl-14-ethyltriacontane) were identified in Shaim and Grozny petroleums. Hydrocarbon structure was confirmed by synthesis and the use of 13 C NMR, MS and GLC.
