Massively Parallel Single-Cell RNA-Seq for Marker-Free Decomposition of Tissues into Cell Types
Diego Jaitin,Ephraim Kenigsberg,Hadas Keren-Shaul,Naama Elefant,Franziska Paul,Irina Zaretsky,Alexander Mildner,Nadav Cohen,Steffen Jung,Amos Tanay,Ido Amit +10 more
TL;DR: An automated massively parallel single-cell RNA sequencing approach for analyzing in vivo transcriptional states in thousands of single cells is introduced and provides the ability to perform a bottom-up characterization of in vivo cell-type landscapes independent of cell markers or prior knowledge.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transcriptional Heterogeneity and Lineage Commitment in Myeloid Progenitors
Franziska Paul,Yaâara Arkin,Amir Giladi,Diego Adhemar Jaitin,Ephraim Kenigsberg,Hadas Keren-Shaul,Deborah R. Winter,David Lara-Astiaso,Meital Gury,Assaf Weiner,Eyal David,Nadav Cohen,Felicia Kathrine Bratt Lauridsen,Simon Haas,Andreas Schlitzer,Andreas Schlitzer,Alexander Mildner,Florent Ginhoux,Steffen Jung,Andreas Trumpp,Bo Torben Porse,Amos Tanay,Ido Amit +22 more
TL;DR: This work comprehensively map myeloid progenitor subpopulations by transcriptional sorting of single cells from the bone marrow, showing unexpected transcriptional priming toward seven differentiation fates but no progenitors with a mixed state.
Journal ArticleDOI
Growth dynamics of gut microbiota in health and disease inferred from single metagenomic samples
Tal Korem,David Zeevi,Jotham Suez,Adina Weinberger,Tali Avnit-Sagi,Maya Pompan-Lotan,Elad Matot,Ghil Jona,Alon Harmelin,Nadav Cohen,Alexandra Sirota-Madi,Christoph A. Thaiss,Meirav Pevsner-Fischer,Rotem Sorek,Ramnik J. Xavier,Eran Elinav,Eran Segal +16 more
TL;DR: The pattern of metagenomic sequencing read coverage for different microbial genomes contains a single trough and a single peak, the latter coinciding with the bacterial origin of replication, and the ratio of sequencing coverage between the peak and trough provides a quantitative measure of a species’ growth rate.
Journal ArticleDOI
Molecular Mechanism for LAMP1 Recognition by Lassa Virus
TL;DR: The crystal structure of GP1 from Lassa virus is reported, which is the first representative GP1 structure for Old World arenaviruses, and a unique triad of histidines forms a binding site for LAMP1, a known lysosomal protein recently discovered to be a critical receptor for internalized LassA virus at acidic pH.
Journal ArticleDOI
Erratum: Transcriptional Heterogeneity and Lineage Commitment in Myeloid Progenitors (Cell (2015) 163 (1663-1677))
