Abstract: Free vibrations of non-homogenous (functionally graded material (FGM)) axisymmetric nonlocal thermoelastic hollow sphere has been taken into consideration for investigation The material of nonlocal thermoelastic sphere is supposed to be graded using power law in radial direction The solution of continued power series is employed to resolve the differential equations and to investigate the analytical solutions for field functions ie temperature, stress and displacement The analytical results have been authenticated using numerical computations with computer based software like MATLAB The numerical results have been shown graphically for the comparison of frequency shift and thermoelastic damping for local and nonlocal elastic materials Deduction of results has been validated with the already published literature

Abstract: This paper aims to present the analysis of transient wave characteristics in a functionally graded viscothermoelastic infinite medium with spherical cavity in the context of generalized thermoelasticity Continued series solution is used to solve simultanious differential equations for evaluating the field variables Convergence of the series solution is implemented and investigated that the series of functions are absolutely and uniformly convergent The formal solution for the field variables are obtained analytically and represented graphically The effect of grading index and different theories of generalized thermoelasticity are also shown graphically to examine the behavior of the variations of the field variables

Dies fiihrt

TL;DR: A three-dimensional model of the generalized thermoelasticity without energy dissipation under temperature-dependent mechanical properties is established and the modulus of elasticity is taken as a linear function of the reference temperature.
Abstract: A three-dimensional model of the generalized thermoelasticity without energy dissipation under temperature-dependent mechanical properties is established. The modulus of elasticity is taken as a linear function of the reference temperature. The resulting formulation in the context of Green and Naghdi model II is applied to a half-space subjected to a time-dependent heat source and traction free surface. The normal mode analysis and eigenvalue approach techniques are used to solve the resulting non-dimensional coupled equations. Numerical results for the field quantities are given in the physical domain and illustrated graphically. The results are also compared to results obtained in the case of temperature-independent modulus of elasticity.

TL;DR: The effects of thermal relaxation times and porosity in a poro-thermoelastic medium are studied and numerical computations for temperatures, displacements and stresses for the liquid and the solid are presented graphically.
Abstract: The purpose of this study is to provide a method to investigate the effects of thermal relaxation times in a poroelastic material by using the finite element method. The formulations are applied under the Green and Lindsay model, with four thermal relaxation times. Due to the complex governing equation, the finite element method has been used to solve these problems. All physical quantities are presented as symmetric and asymmetric tensors. The effects of thermal relaxation times and porosity in a poro-thermoelastic medium are studied. Numerical computations for temperatures, displacements and stresses for the liquid and the solid are presented graphically.
