Abstract: Attention to diversity is one of the educational measures designed in order to improve the efficacy and fairness of the educational system. This article deals with the analysis of the measures carried out in theCompulsory High School level in the Autonomous Region of Madrid; it also presents the results of the interviews carried out in 14 high schools identified through their innovative projects. The aim is to know the background and elaborate guidelines and improving procedures directed to high schools with similar characteristics and contexts. The analysis shows the need to create reliable and involved educational teams which should analyze the specific problems of their schools and which should discuss and agree upon the curricula or the most appropriate ways of intervention depending on the students’ needs. These educational teams should be supported by the school cloister, the school board and the administration team. Finally, this analysis reveals the need of highly-structured interventions and operational objectives that would allow to experiment short term success and self-control progress; an individualized attention; etc.

TL;DR: In this article, four tutoring models were analyzed; in person, by e-mail, using virtual tutoring (Hangout/Google Meet) and WhatsApp, and the results confirm the need to enhance synchronous models, as the most effective models for the development of the process of academic orientation and support for students, compared to asynchronous models.
Abstract: This research is part of the Educational Research Project developed at the University of La Laguna during the academic year 2019–2020, which included the period of confinement by COVID-19. The study was carried out with a sample of 193 student teachers in Early Childhood Education, Primary and four master’s degree programs offered by the Faculty of Education of the University of La Laguna. Four tutoring models were analyzed; in person, by e-mail, using virtual tutoring (Hangout/Google Meet) and WhatsApp. The results confirm the need to enhance synchronous models, as the most effective models for the development of the process of academic orientation and support for students, compared to asynchronous models. These delay the processes of academic decision-making and have a significant effect on them, as well as the pace of study and the motivation of the students, hindering the processes of learning, adaptation and fulfilment.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyze the application of a Service-Learning (SL) methodology in the context of a Final Degree Dissertation (FDD) in the degree in Environmental Sciences at the University of Extremadura (Spain).
Abstract: The Bologna Process and the European Higher Education area require the application of new active methodologies in the classroom that place the student at the center of his or her learning process. In the present work, we analyze the application of a Service-Learning (SL) methodology in the context of a Final Degree Dissertation (FDD) in the degree in Environmental Sciences at the University of Extremadura (Spain). The project deals with an isolated Kichwa community in Ecuador and involves the development of alternative science education materials for the capacitation of in-service science teachers. This paper evaluates how an FDD carried out according to Service-Learning (SL) principles can help in the acquisition of so-called “soft skills” and how these can be focused in the promotion of the sustainable development goal (SDG) knowledge and achievement. To this end, a qualitative study of the experience and a deep evaluation, followed by a final reflection, were carried out. According to the preliminary results, we can conclude that Higher Education should include SDGs in its teaching praxis and could do this successfully using the SL methodology.
