Journal ArticleDOI

Metformin prescription status and abdominal aortic aneurysm disease progression in the U.S. veteran population

TL;DR: Prescription for metformin was associated with decreased AAA enlargement in a nationwide analysis of diabetic Veterans Affairs patients, providing further support for the conduct of prospective clinical trials to test the ability of meetformin to limit progression of early AAA disease.
Journal ArticleDOI

Natural history of gutter-related type Ia endoleaks after snorkel/chimney endovascular aneurysm repair

TL;DR: Gutter‐related type Ia endoleaks represent a relatively frequent early occurrence after ch‐EVAR, but appears to resolve spontaneously in the majority of cases during early to midterm follow‐up, and its natural history may be more benign than originally expected.
Journal ArticleDOI

Association of Blood Pressure Measurements With Peripheral Artery Disease Events.

TL;DR: In this reanalysis of data from ALLHAT, a higher rate of lower extremity PAD events is found with higher and lower SBP and pulse pressure and with lower DBP, which indicates further refinement of optimal blood pressure targets specific to PAD is needed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Increased risk of cardiovascular perforation during ECMO with a bicaval, wire-reinforced cannula.

TL;DR: A relatively high rate of cardiac perforation associated with the dual lumen bicaval cannula may be related to inherent differences in cannula design or the IVC positioning required by the design.
